Well persians do have a constant problem with their eyes becoming liquidish/sticky, usually you try to wipe them which they are not too fond of :p. Well today I will take a walk towards this certain part of an Oslo forest not too far from here, so I hope to get some nice pictures for later... Ukulele? Really?
Man, I want an ukulele... It's just that of course if you would get it, it wouldn't just be about practicing (that I don't have a problem with), but I would also have to learn to play it (as it certainly is not a guitar)... And of course I'd have to buy the thing, which is a bit of an obstacle too (as I would not just get some random cheap toy, instruments are not toys ). You can't get good instruments for cheap, no matter how small |

It is very similar to guitar I would say, if you can play any string instrument you should pick one. Personally I try out things myself and avoid lessons. But if you want to go towards more of a guitar style, a baritone Ukulele would be perfect due to the fact that its tuned exacly like guitar (supposely it works great to play jazz music on), compared to the others where the 3 of the strings have the same tuning. My ukulele costed around 50 - 60 pounds so you can get it very cheap. An instrument is good no matter price, aslong as its not broken! I will upgrade though to a 300/400 dollar tenor ukulele soon when my sister is in the US for holidays. Well in the future I will invest in "toy" instruments since they have unique sounds!.... Mike
I really like the picture of the small stream. And also the pictures of the bug on the surface of the water. Here are two pictures from Thursday-Saturday. They're taken with a cellphone so the quality isn't the best. Still OK enough to be posted. This from the top of the first island we stayed at. The view is great, not the weather though. Second stop. The sun came out and we had a nice evening. This last one is taken earlier this spring and shows the interior of Reubina. It's kind of cramped in there, but the designer (Finnish design btw. Always the best imo) really managed to use each square meter to its fullest.

Those macro pictures of the insects and droplets on the water are nicely done Mike. I tried to take a few similar pics in my parent's pond today but I didn't manage to get a good one. And Jelena, what a wonderful surroundings were you in! Did you park the boat against a rock in the third picture? That rock look awfully close to the stern of the boat.
In other news, I just came back from the yearly photo festival in Naarden. There was a series of pictures of an abandoned house there. Very interesting. You can find pictures that were show on the festival here (warning: it's a bad Flash site in Dutch! ). Look for Petra Stavast. |

Jelena that looks very nice!
The charm with having a boat going from island to island. I hope to be able to afford one in the future whenever I settle down with a family. Tsa that dragon fly is pretty impressive! is there some special thing with you and bugs? you seem to have been on a roll with capturing special moments :p. |

Let me just say that I got a LOT of practice in the past years, and also at work I often have to show as much as possible in one photo, to present in an article about the research I do. So I have developed an eye for it. I had a hard time convincing the camere to focus on the animal, but luckily the dragonfly kept coming back after flying away so I had many chances to get good pictures.

Just a couple quickies I took the other day, though in my opinion at least the last one is one of the best photos I've taken...

UPtimist those are really great,
My favourite one is the third one due to how the roots connect together. Sooo beautiful!! *gets crazy ideas* If someone made a painting out of that it would be such a beautiful scenery, hmm feel maybe I should do so something . Since I suck with making up backgrounds I add some little creatures to give it some fantasy feel! or a red hooded person.. *probably won't do anything but still very inspiring picture* Cat Powah! Maxi with his tongue out.. most comfortable expression.. Makes me always wonder what they are thinking about all the time, I guess we have a lot to learn from cats. If we find the perfect place to lie/settle down, life is pretty good! |
