I don't care if he is or isn't the Impostor - but I have serious issues with the second part of your sentence. Implying omloflump unfun is nothing I'm going to sit and take. You may've not found him particularly fun, but I did, both on the forum and (later) via eMail.

Now - both of you - cut it out.
Please.
My apologies.

I did enjoy the many discourses that Omlo and I shared, but I must also note that we seemed to accentuate certain characteristics in each other.

The "Twine" thread has been merged with this one. No need to have a separate place for clues clews.

No problem, Pinks.

I find it humorous that both Giligan and Jelena thought I was The Impostor. I have toyed with the idea from time to time, but I'm sure that within a post or two I'd let some Southernism slip and the field of prospects would be instantly narrowed to two suspects: Rlpw and myself.

Try it, but pretend to be English, I recall you once saying your exposure to the Britons here, led posters in another forum to mistake you for one of us.

Could be amusing.

I'm interested in The Impostors obvious love of language. I looked up clew and saw it's sailing definition but didn't think about the etymology of the word.

I have a guess as to who it might be not from knowing this person at all but in reading old posts that I had run into, he seems very eloquent. It doesn't explain why the birthday thread was resurrected and he's in a time zone that doesn't mesh with The Impostor's posting habits (for that matter i guess Flux's doesn't either - he's Dutch I believe).

This is my guess.

Trying to be too bad
Trying to talk too tough
Trying to jack the lad
You'd think he'd had enough

But he's not the man you'd think that he can be
I just don't know why you can't see
That he is only the impostor

Maybe it has something to do with those Vikings who started raiding Britain in the Eighth Century, or perhaps just my ability to find a collection of Swedish phrases online...

I'm sure The Impostor will come in here and say "But wait James doesn't even capitolize therefore we must not be at all alike!"

Also posting times might not mean much. It could be someone in Europe and they are just a night owl.

I'm perplexed (it doesn't take much to confuse me lately ).

Now, if I was gifted with a higher grain of foresight, I would have done just that. You see, initially I'd take one person into my confidence after posting a few times as The Impostor, give her/him the password, and tell him/her to post freely. Then I'd add another person, whom I would tell was the only other one in the account (though perhaps suggesting there was another would be wiser), and so on/forth. Eventually there would be a small, unaware army of Impostors, all thinking everyone else's Impostor posts were erratically composed by me. Orient Express eat your heart out. Ah, pity.

It was quite a big clue, too. (And I wanted to wish a missed birthday either way.)

I'm not him for the simple reason that I will never utter the words, "Morrissey is the best lyricist of all time!" as long as I live, nor, for that matter, will I type them (that was copy-pasted, babe).

Oh, and I'm not BoyToy either. He's much too busy being an Officeâ„¢ prop somewhere in Eden to pull off such deceit.

With the "brown suit" reference, I was pretty sure The Impostor was Stepurhan.

Well, Dear Sage, I apologise for telling you to do that against your will, and especially in lieu of what Stepurhan is currently going through (which I wish him very sincere luck with), but I would like to publicly admit that I am not Stepurhan. The moderators will back me up on that, if need be. My exploitative side couldn't resist doing that here, I'm afraid.

I'm amused to see that Panthera suggested I could be the Impostor. I don't really consider it worth my while to do silly things like that.

OR DO I?
