I studied the piano for many years when I was young(-er) and hearing you play makes me feel the keyboard under my fingers!
I'd love to hear more of your music!

Quite nice, Moriarty. I don't know music very well, but it sounds good to my ears. I'd like to hear a better quality recording.

I don't know how I can do that, sadly.

Never heard of that movie. Truth is, I don't listen to much. Since you ask where the inspiration came from, I've got to tell you the story behind the music. It was actually inspired by the game design of Beyond Good & Evil- when I played the demo for the first time, and saw how effortlessly Ancel moved between types of gameplay, I thought to myself, "If he can jump between art forms, why can't I jump between styles?". And the idea of art which looks at different styles not as mutually exclusive but as different paints in a palette sort of got stuck in my head. And then I didn't think about it again for a long time. But ideas like this always stick with you, whether you realize it or not. Gradually, without my being conscious of it, my music was moving toward this ideal, jumping from style to style all the time. Eventually I realized what I was doing and decided to utilize the "meta-style" consciously (and more blatantly) in a full piece (as opposed to the improvisations I do more often). Hence the name. It starts and ends in baroque, but in the middle there's lots of other stuff- pop, postromantic, impressionist. I'm glad you liked it despite the terrible quality of the file.

My new one, and I really like this one. In retrospect; sorry for the previous two

Looking real nice Flux. It is apparent how much you are refining your talent with each new painting.

Flux, I like your paintings. The two paintings on the previous page seem familiar. Are they based on any famous japanese buddhist art by any chance?

Here's something I did a couple months back for a friend's birthday

No, they're pretty much just angry men I like it as well how much I progress with each painting, but that has more to do with getting used to working with the materials than a real profound advancement. I'm now just quickly getting to the level of err, artisticness that I was already at, but just with acrylics.

Jayel, you really capture Bruce Timm's style of superheroes there. Even a bit more cubic. It's really classy, and nice use of colours!

Here's my first oil painting ever, which was also my last artwork done in school.

It's a Triptych!

The Sun is a little Girl

The Moon is a grown up woman

And here's the pretty middle thing

I like the texturing on the hair. But then I'm not artist, so I might be talking rubbish.

No, you're right, it turned out very well. Heh, I used a brush that was intended to draw landscapes for that. It's called a fan brush, and this is what it looks like:

I found it creates a very natural looking structure, and if you put different shades on different sections of it, it is even better.

That is not what the fan blender is for. It is just for blending tones. It is a very silly thing to say, "a brush for landscapes." That is like saying tomato is a plant for marinara sauce.

I know, it's not just "for landscapes". But my teacher said it is "usually used when painting landscapes" (though he might have also added that it's used for blending. Sometimes my hearing is a bit bad.). I should have said it that way.

And tomato is an evil plant, especially if you leave the squishy parts inside.

Yes, but that is not the sole use of the plant. That was my point. The plant was not invented so that marinara sauce could be made, it was the other way around, no?

What do you guys think about this one?

It's really cheap house paint for the underpainting and then some really vivid cadmium oil stuff give it that punch. I couldn't quite photograph it right because it is so vivid, but I tweaked it in post production, so to speak. I think it is a fairly right representation of what is there, all things considered.

I'm always amazed how much you can lose yourself in those Munch-like painting. It's just patches, but the erratic vibrancy in the colour makes it so mesmerizing. More so than if there were actual shapes and (abstract) stuff on there.

Here's a contest entry I submitted in another forum. The purpose was to do a scene or character from Trek in a particular artistic style. Here I have Spock meeting an Assyrian warrior. The Photoshop post-production didn't turn out as well as I expected, and I didn't have time to tweak it because of the deadline...But anyway, most of my work here was actually modeling the two figures in a 3d program.
