"Heat" is one of those pieces of art that just pop up in your mind and don't stop nagging until you have created them. Maybe Van Gogh's piece was one like that too? I mean, he was nearly as mad as I am. -

Hehe, I just found this strip I did when I probably was ''inspired'' by a certain movie:

heeey! Robocop!!!
That's like my favourite action movie ever. I used to make sucky Robocop comic strips when I was 7 or 8 years old. I used to draw him like this: |

Thanks. You know, meeting Robocop is the very first childhood memory of mine (or rather, a person in the robocop suit in front of the theatre promoting the film). He offered to shake my hand but I was too chicken shit to take it and hid behind my dad. I regret it to this day.
anyway, the transparency thing using photoshop: I started out with a flat, black and white image. 1. select all and copy and paste into a new channel. 2. menu->select->load selection and use the new channel you created 3. create a new layer 4. fill with color 5. delete background layer 6. menu->file->save for web 7. make sure transparency is checked for png (or gif) If you're doing multi-coloured image, you'd have to use a different approach. Here's an old (REALLY OLD, like 10~12 years old) fan art of Under A Killing Moon I just found: Apparently I've been making fan arts forever. Last edited by Jayel; 06-19-2006 at 06:26 PM. |

I made a painting with acrylics on a canvas of Captain Rumquist, one of Captain August's antagonists in my webcomic. It's a little flat, but then this is my first acrylic painting ever. Be gentle.

My art is music, which isn't quite so easy to show. I do have one recording of a piece I wrote (well, not literally wrote, since I just keep it in my head like most of my pieces) a little over a year ago. It's called Prism. Now, before you listen, I'll warn you that this is a terrible recording. The piano does not sound so tinny in real life- the recording was made with a microphone meant for voice, so that's why it sounds all wrong. And the bass, which is incredibly important here, is barely audible. So maybe you should turn the bass up a lot to make it sound a little more like the original sound. And then a friend of mine fiddled around with the file to make it sound better, but some of what he did was extremely awkward. So just pretend that's not there. And to top it all off, the original playing was far from perfect- there are lots of mistakes, and flaws in the improvisation of the harmony, and blah blah blah blah blah.
I'll give it to you anyway because I don't have any other way to play it for you, and this is one of my better pieces. It's pretty representative of my usual style, too. Anyway, here it is: Edit: ignore the rest of this post- just get it from bysmitty in the next post, who I thank very much. http://www.uploading.com/?get=HHAD7121 Click on the button that says "Free", then type in whatever numbers it says and wait 40 seconds. Sorry about putting you through this site, but it was the only one I could find. I hope the download works. Last edited by MoriartyL; 07-19-2006 at 08:36 AM. |

That uploading.com is a nightmare to use. I hope you don't mind but I mirrored your file on my webspace so you can share it easier. You can find it here.
It really is a lovely piece. I'm eager to hear your work with a proper recording. ...bysmitty

I have Windows media player and it says it doesn't support this file. I so wanted to hear Mory piece. What do I do?

Strange- it plays on WMP for me. Though it tells me the codec is made by Nero, so I must have gotten it with my copy of Nero's burning software. Anyway, Winamp should work, and I use iTunes so I know that works. VLC will also work, and if WMP is your default it certainly wouldn't hurt to have this open-source program for all the inevitable times it won't function.

Hm, the Microsoft site seems to indicate that if Windows Media Player didn't have the codec for MPEG-4 it would download it automatically. But it doesn't surprise me (with all the bad experiences I've had with WMP) to hear that it didn't work like that.
Come to think of it, do you have Quicktime? That ought to play it too. |
