New
Perhaps a "newbie" or "introduce yourself" thread. It's like freshman year all over again... help us out.

I meant a permanent one. A lot of forums have a sticky thread or else a section just devoted for new-comers to introduce themselves and meet the regulars as well as other new people. Just a suggestion.

Magic!
I think if you post anything in chat-chat or the other threads that don't have to do with adventure gaming, your posts don't count.

Thanks!!
Why doesn't everyone just take a minute and introduce themselves if you're comfortable. Just the basics. I'll start- I'm Rachel, 20 years old. I just graduated from college last August majoring in Media. I work in Video Production (writing, filming, and editing). The first adventure game I ever played was KQ4 when I was only 4 or 5. I love RPGs as well.

I'm the resident Fairygodmother - call me FGM or Lynsie. I'm an old lady (58) who happens to love adv gaming. First PC in 1986, played HHGTTG, but didn't really get into Adv gaming till 2001 - well hooked now, though! I'm trying to catch up with the classics, but enjoy the newer ones too. Welcome to AG, Rachel!

Welcome to AG, Rachel!
I'm one of the many finnish guys around here, I'm still 22, but not for long. I love all games equally, except games like Civilization. If I give games like that even one finger, they pull me back in and I will never get out.

Hiya, Rachel. I'm Brick Tamland. People seem to like me because I'm polite and I'm rarely late. I like to eat ice cream, and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Er, whoops. I'm Reno. I'm eighteen and have been playing adventure games since I was five. I grew up on Sierra games. I watched my dad play them until I was old enough to know what I was doing, used hintbooks until I was old enough to really know what I was doing, and still play them over and over to this day. My favorite series is Space Quest, followed by Leisure Suit Larry, Quest for Glory, King's Quest, then Police Quest. My favorite LucasArts game is Grim Fandango, my favorite non-Sierra-non-LEC adventure game is Zork: Grand Inquisitor, and yes, I am a fan of Myst. I'm also absurdly tall and need a hair cut. Welcome to the forum!

I'm Melanie, 37, jumping through the last hoop of school (PhD). I didn't start gaming until I was 30 (Myst was my first).

Lynsie- An old lady? There is no such thing!
Kolzig- I've never played civilization and was actually thinking about getting it. Maybe not now!! Is it kind of like Age of the Empires or Tripico Island: Pirate Cove? Or is it more like Sim City? Reno- You sound like me. From watching my dad, to hint books, to repetitive playing. I could write a walkthrough to any Kings Quest game without opening the game. Space Quest scared me when I was little, but SQII (I think) was my favorite (the one with the little guy hanging upside down from the tree). Lucien- What RPG do you like the most? I like Baiten Katos and Tales of Symphonia the most by far (both on the gamecube). Melanie- Wow. 7 years of school? That takes a lot of work and dedication. Holy crap.
