My first AG was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade back in 1988. I still have it and in the original box too, probably worth somthing.

The Secret of Monkey Island on my first computer, an Amiga 500 with 1 MB RAM connected to a TV.
I soon switched from Amiga to a Mac Classic (yeah, 9 inch b/w-screens rock!) and Space Quest III became my second adventure game. There weren't many games that would run on my small monochrome screen, therefore I saved all my money and bought me a Mac IIvx with 8 Megs, 80 MB hard drive, a CD-ROM (!!!) and a gorgeous 14-inch Apple RGB display with the stunning resolution of 640 x 480 pixels in 16-Bit color. I re-discovered the beauty of Monkey Island with an enhanced version of the game on my Mac. |

I scanned through some replys, and didnt find anyone mentioning Twinsen's Odissey
The game came with the computer(pentiumI 200mmhz ) and hell, I played that game A LOT... it was not only my first adventure game, but the first that really challenged me to finish it. I dont know how I finished it withouth any walkthrough edit: it seems that this game was also called Little big adventure or something like that... so Im not the only one that has played it Last edited by Magus; 07-24-2005 at 10:38 PM. |

My first was MI2, followed closely by MI1. Didn't play another until MI3.

Huh??? I could've sworn I posted in here long ago, guess not!
Graphic Adventures: Mummy's Curse, Transylvania, Critical Mass, The Tracer Sanction, Death in the Caribbean (never finished this one, software bug), plus a few others Text Adventures: Zork, Adventure (Colossal Caverns)... ...all on 5 1/2 inch floppy disks on my uncle's Apple II in 1985! (I've replayed most of them, thanks to the AppleWin emulator! Curiously though, I still get the same bug in DitC! )

My first adventure games were Inherit the Earth, King's Quest 6, and Space Quest 5. After that, it was Kyrandia 1, KQ5, SQ4, Loom, and Monkey Island 1. Good times!

Labyrinth of Time. *heart*
I literally cried at the time because I was in such firm belief that games were just shooting games and other reaction-testers until that game proved me wrong. I'm forever in it's debt.

Sam and Max. I laughed so hard when he stuck the rabbit in the electrical box in the carnival I just decided I loved those games .

[QUOTE=ajb924]Which was your very first adventure game you played?
I go back to the Commodore days. My first adventures were from Infocom and Tellerium (formerly Trilliam). Games like "The Hitchhikers Guide", and "Congo". Later on it was "Maniac Mansion", "then Monkey Island" |

That would be Shadowgate on the 8-bit Nintendo way back in 1988 followed by Zak McKracken and then Monkey Island on the Amiga.

Not like them!

As with practically all types of games, my first experience was with trash. The 1995 murder mystery Robot City, to be specific. I got it as a gift from an old friend who was visiting. My strongest memory from that game was wandering around bland streets which all looked exactly the same, trying to find my way to some area or another (and more often than not ending up completely lost).

My fist one ever was the Hugo House of Horror series, i ever completed any of them apart from the third..and even then I never managed to give the big head guy his orb
I really didnt like how the game kept taunting me at the end of the first one where your outside the cell door "Its really simple you know!" or something along those lines but the game that got me hooked on the series was toonstruck it only saddens me that i havent found a way to play this on my new comp |

The first AG I played was Space Quest 2. I was something like 4 or 5 years old and I actually learned how to read and spell with that game. In the same time frame I also played games like Monkey Island and Kings Quest. But I wasn't allowed to play LSL.
