I recently played Everlight, and it has strong romantic elements.

Zork Nemesis has one of the most romantic story lines that I've come across, and the second Gabriel Knight had a lot of romantic tension.

I consider Gray Matter a very romantic game, Dark yeah but still,
the parts where Dr.Styles have those visions and memories his wife especially inside that machine moved me big time !!

Heart of China - now that brings back memories. What a great old Amiga game. Yes, I'd say that was a romantic game.

One of the feature articles on old JA site was about "games for lovers". Take a look here

Incidentally, and that might be useful for other purposes, the archived JA website is still hosted on their servers, even though you can't access it from the main site. All you need to do is put "betax1" at the front of the URL.

So click here for the "10 AGs for lovers" article and here for the archived home page.

I haven't praised "To the Moon" in a few weeks, so here goes...

At its core, To the Moon also has a very romantic love story, and the best part is that you get to experience it in reverse, starting with the death of one, then witnessing the "growing old together" and then slowly working back in their relationship to the wedding, dating and finally meeting.

Plus the love story is flawed, it shows both the good AND the bad, making it a lot more believable than any of those movie-of-the-week fairytale lovey-dovey stories...

Hadn't thought of it that way. But you're right. Just like the romance of UP was summarized in the first 20 minutes, and reached resolution an hour later.

The Broken Sword games have that thing between George and Nicole. Maybe more of a tease than a romance though.

I think that's the only game I can think of that I've played that comes closest to being romantic rather than having a romantic element in it!
