Default Gabriel Knight 3 Music

Does anyone know how to get the game music into the hard-drive and be able to play it on some king of software? because I really like some part of the music, but I don't want to load up the game everytime I want to listen to it.

Start GK3, wait for the intro to end, press Control + Shift + ~ (or some other key next to or near the backspace button, it kind of depends on the layout of your keyboard - in my keyboard it's the one next to backspace), and a console should open. Type Extract and press space, then press enter. A file called !!!Readme.txt has appeared in the GK3 folder. Open it, and start exploring, you should find the music files eventually (they are mp3's).

There was once a list of all the music files in the Sidney website. Does anyone still have the list?

You can also open the BRN file with music directly in WinAmp. Although I forgot the name of the file, it's one of those installed on harddisk.

I checked, it's ambient.brn

The file is over an hour long!

I don't remember the filenames, but I went to great lengths to make myself a GK3 soundtrack. All of the music is basically in one file... I broke it into about 100 different pieces and fit 52 tracks on an 80 minute CD. Most of what didn't fit on the CD was little stuff I couldn't recognize since a lot of it sounded so similar. Also, there are repetitive things such as several versions of the music for Grace in the hotel room.

There's a program that was recommended by one of the regulars here, I think it may have been Jaf. It's called GAP. You can download it from this site:
http://bim.km.ru/gap/

It'll let you browse through the music tracks of Gabriel Knight 3 and you can extract them as WAVs. A very handy program, give it a try

Default Gabriel Knight 3 Soundtrack

Easier than getting it off the game, go to this site:

[LINK REMOVED]

You should be able to save the link to the music file by right clicking on the title of the song and Save Target As... wherever you want to keep it.

Yeah, they were nice, although the main theme is funny as it reminds me of those tv news opening themes..."bbc news good evening".

You have to press control + shift + a button depending on your keyboard layout. Because I have a scandinavian keyboard, the key I have to press is ~. For you it might be something else, like `.

Regarding this site, someone mentioned they were in low-quality. I downloaded one file, and it said 112 kbps - now that's not that bad? Is there any difference to the quality from the music at this site and the game?

112 kbs not bad? It depends how you look at it, I re-ripped the whole soundtrack and compressed it at 320, it's already not such a good quality to start with, compressing will only make things worse.
