I'm fine with some platforming. I was trained by Lara Croft, Alice, and Kyle Katarn.

In the "Frontal Lobe Features" section of the Psychonaughts site. It has this note: "Challenging puzzles span a range of difficulty, with alternate solutions that self-tailor themselves to the player’s own strengths and abilities." This suggests that there are different ways to progress through the levels, so if you get stuck trying to do one thing or can always try something else and progress that way.

is it just me, or did anyone else notice that the voice 37 seconds in sounds like Dr. Fred from DOTT?!?

Ok so maybe I am, just a tiny bit. In fact, most of my scepticism is a result of that last Indiana Jones game, more specifically the "Von Beck's Revenge" stage, which sort of cemented my deprecation of platformers. Actually I am relatively patient with most games, providing the game itself has enough going for it, I'll usually try and last through the more Just as long as it's not as annoying as Indian Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, I doubt I'll have to much to complain about. This 'self tailoring to the players own strengths and abilities' thing sounds encouraging anyway.

Seems very promising. I can't say that I'm a big fan of platformers, but this certainly seems to be something special. Of course when Tim's involved, it's always something special.

So what about this game isn't going to rock? If they're going all out even for the voice acting, this has got to become one well-rounded product.

The only voice I don't like is Lilies.

This says "Nightmare Before Christmas" to me!
Seriously, look at that building! It's like the mad scientists' tower crossed with Lock, Stock, and Barrel's House!

For those who thought the trailer was messy audio-wise, look here.
http://mojoart.mixnmojo.com/original-art/psychonauts/videos/Psychonauts%20-%20Trailer%202%20-%20Gameplay%20edit%20(no%20sound)%20(640x480).avi (5.3 MB, 00:55) I cut out all the non-gameplay scenes except for beginning and end. And I removed the sound. The video is in DivX avi format. Enjoy. |

Could you also upload the whole trailer? Just because my ISP hasn't done... whatever.... and I can't access it.
