Default FEAR Sequel / Expansion?

I finished FEAR a few minutes ago, and I must say they seemed to learn alot from Valve about cliff hanger endings, The last chapter in the game is called ''Epilogue'', And after the credits you hear a phone call about how the ''experiment''. I really enjoyed this game, I thought the ending was brilliant, some truly amazing graphics and special effects used in this game.

So any news of a Sequel or Expansion? Im sure FEAR 2 would be embraced with everyone, everyone loved FEAR, well the press anyway.

I'm still trying to get over the fact the game is finished. At least it didnt feel like HL2, they didnt even say a single word about the future of the series, FEAR makes it a bit more obvious that there will be more. But HL2 is a much better game anyway, what game can beat those fun physics?

Rant along children.

I played the demo yesterday and damn I loved the atmosphere. My heart was literally pounding in the few freaky-deaky moments in the demo. Also, the AI was amazing, and a single firefight when replayed wouldn't be exactly the same as before.

How many hours long is the game? I was pretty close to buying it yesterday instead of HL2, but I figured I'd be getting more bang for my buck with HL2: GOTY.

Indeed you can replay a scene 5 times and each time it will be different, sometimes I replayed a few levels for the heck of it, because it was so fun. HL2 is better though, but FEAR is in a different league.

I wish games wouldn't do that. They set up the ending so that there will be a sequal, then the game bombs and they never get to make the sequal, and for all of those people who loved the first, it's kind of "tooooooo bad" for them.

*Sequel.

And games who do endings like those usually know that the game would be a massive success due to the reactions to the press and hands on previews. Half Life is the perfect example, they'll probably end up having 4 games or so. Because they think out side the box.

Man... you never know if you have a hit. You think Valve sat there making the original Half-Life, thinking: "Oh, man. This is going to be such a success! Let's have the ending make no actual sense!"

You can never trust the market! NEVER!

Well I think FEAR will definitely have a sequel, as the game seemed to be well-received. I enjoyed the neding a lot, the only thing I didn't get that I wanted, was some type of major climax in the game. They skip the whole major confrontation with the main baddies and I like that conflict normally.

I will be interested to see if they port this game over to the 360 or PS3. That would be one way to ensure that we see more incarnations of the FEAR brand.

Aside from the fact that it was obvious he was working for some sort of aliens, and he wanted you to work with him, there was little else that actually made sense about the ending of Half-Life. Why was Gordon chosen? Who is it really that G-Man was working for? Where the hell does Gordon go when accepting the job? Are the Xen important?

It didn't make sense, because they hoped they'd get to explain it later. But it really didn't matter when developing the game, because the most important thing was to make the game good. The story could be evolved if the game was a hit. But I doubt they assumed the game would be a hit, and therefore made the ending so damn ambigious(spelling?).

As far as F.E.A.R. is concerned, Vivendi have been clear about their desire to turn it into a franchise having lost the distribution rights to Half-Life. It all depends on the sales, of course, though I suspect that F.E.A.R. has done fairly well, and is almost certainly going to end up beating the sales figures of any of the number of Monolith games that have failed commercially...

I just remembered the Penetrator! That was got to be the best gun ever!

I remember one point where I saw a guy just minding his own buisness in an office through a window, so i pegged him right in the head. But he didnt fall over..

Yeah, I also loved shooting the walls, it was so fun to see it all just crumble and blow apart.

I also like how it dusts up in small spaces...Iv always wondered, do the enemies react to that? as if it was a smoke grenade or something?

They react alright, Whenever I shoot so much and smoke is everywhere you see them running in the room, but you cant seem them until a split second later they decide to run in your face.
