..............Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik

Siamese Dream - Smashing Pumpkins, and Angel Dust - Faith No More come a very close jont second

Radiohead circa The Bends/OK Computer certainly weren't boring. But the albums after certainly were.

Speaking of Radiohead, I loved The Bends as a kid, but I never bought into OK Computer. Sure, some of the songs there were great and Let Down is possibly their finest moment, but I think it's blown way out of proportion. I'm glad they decided to try different things after that, but by that point I've already lost my interest.

Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Revisited and/or Blonde On Blonde
I'm also shocked to note that, from my brief skim, The Beatles don't feature (correct me if I'm wrong), so I shall give a mention to undoubtedly the greatest Rock 'n' Roll band of all time: Revolver.

I love this record. Expect a rant when I'm not this tired (music fest all weekend, in work now )

It changes a lot over time, depending on what kind of music I want to listen, but these days I'd answer Mutter, by Rammstein...

System of a down's Toxicity comes close, but since I've discovered SoaD very recently, it might be just the novelty.

More classically, Zombie, by the Cranberries, or my Deep Purple Best of (except maybe it's not considered an album).

Can I nominate an album I only heard live and that was (very much to my infinite frustration) never released?

Er?

This, Captains Beyond s/t cd (the first) is by my opinion the worlds best album! It hasen't got one bad track. If you manage to be able to find it, buy it! Rob Evans (former Deep Purple singer) stands for the vocals! It's a great album I tell you.

Then I have some second places, like Kyuss - Blues for the red sun, Queens of the Stone Age - s/t and Black Sabbath - Master of Reality

It's not the best album ever, but it was my first and it's still my favourite. Easy to listen to.

My fave has to be Dream Theater's Metropolis Part II: Scenes from a Memory.

Radiohead - OK Computer - the world's greatest band's greatest album

I also sometimes switch out with their album Kid A. Radiohead are one of the few bands that can say they've produced at least 4 masterpieces: The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, and Hail to the Thief. Pablo Honey was all right but nothing compared with all their later work. Amnesiac is only slightly below masterpiece and who knows what their new one will sound like. It'll be out early next year. I've heard a couple potential tracks already and it is leaning into the Kid A sound(and singer Yorke says the recording process is very much the same as the Kid A/Amnesiac sessions).

I'll mention a band probably none of you have heard of: Augie March. And also snobbishly claim that popular music truly peaked with Bob Dylan and The Beatles. For me, at least.
