Your favourite album *one choice only*
Mine would most definitely be Paul Simon's Graceland. I've been listening to it since I was 9, in 1986, and as I've gotten older its depth and musical genius has revealed itself to me each time I play it. Every song from the Boy In The Bubble up to The Myth of Fingerprints is a standout track. It features some of the best bass playing ever, and Simon created an album of harmony out of a large base of different South African bands during the time of apartheid. It's not only a wonderful album, its a fantastic statement. Your turn.

My favourite album is by a little Australian power pop band no one's ever heard of.
Of the albums I own that people might actually know, this is the best album I've bought within the past year: Beautiful, beautiful stuff. Lord praise the man who can make a banjo sound melancholy. I'm going to visit record stores tomorrow for his new one, based on Illinois.

Just one allbum? @#$%^&!
Squarejaw, yer a crool mahn! Okay, if it's just one, then it has to be this one: This is one of only two albums I've owned on vinyl, on 8-track, on cassette, and on CD. The other is The Eagles- "Greatest Hits 1971-1975". I'm not always in the mood for The Eagles, but I am always in the mood for Queen. ScottMate

Well, at the moment I'd pick this, of course. Electro pop at its best.

Best album of the 90s. I love this quote from a fan: Quote:
Return of Saturn It makes me angry *grrr* how this master piece didn't get recognition, well not angry, but maybe I'm... perplexed? Tragic Kingdom had catchy pop songs, and I love that album too, but RoS was just so much richer, stronger, and deeper. Suzanne Vega(self-titled) It was close, between 99.9 degrees F, Solitude Standing and this, but this album has the smartest lyrics, most emotional songs, and the best fun songs. Never Mind the Bollocks here's the Sex Pistols An attack on the monarchy, and capitalism, and behind the slurring and inaudible vocals, the lyrics are nothing if not witty and fun. London Calling It's got everything I like, in spades, but I gotta be honest, not every song impressed me, but the ones that did, more than made up for that. Spanish Bombs, London Calling, The Guns Of Brixton and Rudie Can't Fail are remarkable. My Generation "It's not true, it's not true, i'm telling you!" Oh yes it is. Why haven't I seen this yet? In a lot of ways it is perfection. Last edited by Aj_; 07-10-2005 at 11:38 AM. |

Angel Dust. The first cd i ever bought, and it also happens to be Faith No More´s best album.
PJ Harvey has done lots of good music, Dry is one my favourite cd´s of hers. Years ago i had a period where i was obsessed about Tori Amos´ music. I´ve grown out of that phase though.

Hmm... my current favorite is probably:
Colin Hay - Man At Work Partly because I just saw him live, so many of the songs are still in my head, but I've always really liked the acoustic version of "Overkill." This album also has my favorite version of "Down Under," which I think is way better than the original one by Men At Work (which Colin Hay is the former lead singer of). Also, the song "Waiting for my real life to begin" is just terrific. |

London Calling is my all-time favourite, and I'm sure it'll never be topped. 19 of the best punk, rock and roll, and ska songs ever recorded. Other notable albums for me:
