I've been to the doctor and he sent me to a specialist......
...unfortunately what I have is incurable; apparently I will never be able to enjoy football, rugby or cricket!
In fact, my situation will only deteriorate as I grow older - in my old age I am destined to sit in a rocking chair by the living room window and shake my fist at young football fans as they walk past

I do like sports though, my favourites being Kickboxing, Boxing and American Football

Oh, and I do like to watch Snooker.......
There I see the implicit reference that football is girly, you nasty american boy

The point with football in Europe is that you can easily practice all your boxing after the matches if you want it to be manly enough

"Pick-Axe handles, Bicycle chains, there ain't no rules, this ain't a game!"

(Oh and by the way US Football sucks big time compared to rugby )

Ah, I see how that might be implied but I really don't think it's girly - I just think it has become incredibly commercial and has got quite out of hand....

This is one of the reasons I don't like football - the violence that happens during and after matches is just STUPID.
I've seen it first-hand when I've been in pubs where a match has been showing and the fans of the losing team have just gone wild

I completely disagree - having experienced both (played amateur rugby for 2 yrs when I was 12, and then played in an American Football team as wide receiver, running back and tight end when I was 17)
- I really feel that the toughest, and most enjoyable experience came from playing US football

I am from the States, and although the biggest three of you couldn't hold me down and make me watch American Football, I will occasionally watch a Soccer game if I come across one while flipping channels on the television.
I also can't abide American beer because to me it all tastes watered-down and nasty, so I might actually like real British or German beers.

Favourite clubs: Ajax Amsterdam, and recently also AZ Alkmaar, because they play so enthusiastic. They're a little club that never made much impact, but they're currently putting our biggest teams to shame. (And they won from the unbeatable Villarreal yesterday, whoo!)

Favourite National team: Netherlands (well duh! )

Yep but how tough can it be anyway when you're 12 and 17, you're not really physically ripe for it to be tough
I just play rugby, I've never played US football, but I watched both on TV.
And god how can US football be boring...
The game phases are so short (leave room for the ads uh ), the guys don't know how to tackle, and they run straightforward.
So yes it is more tough but who cares! :p

Well, I'm from Paris, so...
I have to support Paris

Of course it would be easier to support Real Madrid

C'est quand même débile de parler foot avec un français en anglais sur un forum de jeux d'aventure héhé

That's just the stereotypical englishman, understanding nothing of football, except that you have to play long and as rough as you can

Favorite club: Juventus
Favorite national teams: Italy and Brazil (and I guess I have to add Finland there too... Forssell should just make a comeback soon...)
No need to explain I think... (Juve will beat Liverpool easy in the next game)

They aren't fans. That's the typical misconception. They are simply hooligans trying to find a reason to start something like that. They aren't interested in football at all.

Yes of course English football would be much better if they used the simulation techniques of the Calcio for diving in the penalty box

As you probably knew, I was joking

Though that diving is yet another stereotype, which I personally am really annoyed of, since everybody who I talk to who is in some way opposing my view always says the same thing...

So am I, but no matter how hard I try, I can't bring myself to like them.

In fact, I think you're cursed. Your first-born will become a football pro, will get rich and famous by doing so. And you won't profit from that because you always told him to "stop playing that stupid game and get a job"! I pity you.

And Football ("American football that is") is not commercial ? There are commercials every 1 minute of gameplay, and then throughout the half time. Actually, the superbowl commercials go up to a few million dollars. Every sport is commercialized

Hopefully Chelsea will get to the finals, preferably againt Juventus. Haven't had a favourite team for a long time now, but I definitely prefer Premier League to any other league. And Chelsea is starting to win me over, with players like Lampard, Terry, Cole and Drogba. Too bad Robben plays in Chelsea as well (he's got great technique but I really don't like him...).

I saw the game against Bayern Munich, 'twas great. Especially since we (as in Chelsea) totally destroyed you (as in Bayern)! It should have been 4-1, though. That penalty kick was ****ing ridiculous. Ballack (or whoever it was) tried to go for a header and when he realised that he wouldn't reach it, just went for a dive instead. Gah.

I prefer Juve of all the italian teams, but that's basically because of Zlatan!

So, yeah, a Champions League final between Chelsea and Juve would be freakin awesome.

Can't be Juve-Chelsea, the winners of their games will play against each other in the semi-finals...

And well, can't really blame the referee. I mean, sure, you can blame, but it was at the end of the match and besides, stuff like that happens all the time. Meaning that errors happen all the time...
