I'm surprised none of you who've been wondering about the Finnish Players remembered Mikael Forssell... He's in Chelsea. I think he played in their last game in Champions League. He had been injured... I think currently he's maybe the best Finnish player. At least the best attacker, and the most skilled player.

Wow, totally forgot about him. Actually, I never really knew he's from Finland (his surname fooled me).

True. He played for Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach for about half a season once. I think he was loaned from Chelsea.

Yeah, and he also played in Birmingham on loan from Chelsea, because they haven't really had any use for him in Chelsea, even though he scored a hell of an amount of goals in Birmingham.

Well, Bayern won the German championship , Hansa Rostock didn't qualify for another Bundesliga season (rank 17). It seems they want to keep Litmanen anyway. And I've missed the UEFA cup finals.

Oh no, I hope that they lose, how would it look if a team that killed football won the Champions League.

Well that's how Liverpool defeated Chelsea to be Milans opponents in the final. Guess we're in for a pretty deadly game tomorrow.

Come to think of it, that's how Arsenal defeated Manchester United in this years FA Cup too........... looks like it's a popular method this season. KILL FOOTBALL

Well, that sure was a deadly final, but not in the way I thought it would be. Great stuff. What a comeback by Liverpool. And what a great player young Gerrard is turning into. Congratulations, Liverpool, you deserved it after that fight back.

And Dudek had a touch of the Grobelaars tonight. Hilarious entertainment - not sure if all were legal though.

What a great game. I can't remember a game as exciting as this..maybe the Liverpool vs Newcastle Premiership games 9 years ago when both games ended 4-3 to Liverpool.

I don't understand why that flop Kewell started. He's useless. Should of started with Cisse.

Well, that sure was... Well, not that great...

Damn...

Naturally, I blame the judge (come on, there was an offside he didn't whistle and the in the penalty he just tripped on his own feet... Oh, and it wasn't really an offside that one) . And Liverpool's exciting English tactic of after an equalizer getting a very exciting at least eight player defense...

Even though it was a good comeback, in my opinion Milan would've deserved to win. They ruled the entire first half and the extra time, while Liverpool ruled the first 15 minutes of the second half...

But well, I'm much more a fan of Milan than, well, any English team (especially Liverpool) so I'm still at least a bit biased...

Really? Wow, and you hid it so well.

@Reflection - Cisse was crap last night. He hardly did a thing in the 40-odd minutes he was on the pitch - apart from giving the ball away a lot. Carrager, Gerrard and Dudek were the 3 players who really stood out for me. Hamann made a big difference when he came on too.

Liverpool get to keep the cup this year too for their 5th win. Nice one. The great Liverpool sides of the past have given me a lot of pleasure watching them in Europe in the late 70's and early 80's (just a pity about the dark history that destroyed it all otherwise who knows how many more they may have won). There's still a lot of doubt over whether they will be allowed to defend it though. Hopefully FIFA will make the right choice and give them a slot next season.

And what I'm most proud of is that sandwiched between the Liverpool European Cup wins of 1981 and 1983 is the incredible win of my beloved Aston Villa against Bayern Munich in the 1982 final (ironic that I now live in Munich with Bayern fans - I like to remind them occasionally ). Still the greatest day in Villa's history so far.

Yeah, I know you know, I just had to say something

But I watched the game again and I've go to say two things. First of all, Liverpool wasn't that good. It had that short time of collapse from Milan and they scored. After that, Milan got more control the further the game went.

Well they certainly weren't playing like that in the game. It was offensive and well, entertaining, it was just the way football should be.

Yeah..I know but Cisse's better than Kewell! ;p

Riise could of put Liverpool 4-3 with that shot outside of the box, Dida made a great save though.

But this weekend will be glorious for West Ham.
It's going to be the comeback to the Premier League.

Hm, don't know which parts of Munich you've been to but I know far more Bayern fans than "Sechsiger". The only 1860 fan I know lives in the flat below and he's a grumpy old sod (I don't think being an 1860 fan has anything to do with that but who knows ). I guess most 1860 fans won't admit it atm after failing to secure promotion, whereas the Bayern fans have plenty to shout about having won the Bundesliga. Here's hoping for a good DFB Pokal Finale tomorrow gegen Schalke 04.

As for Liverpool - I really can't see the FA now eliminating Everton in favour of Liverpool, that would quite literally cause a war in the Liverpool area (for those who don't know, Everton are also a Liverpool team). FIFA need to make the decision (not a hard one really, come on you FIFA wimps) to allow 5 English clubs in next years Champions League and give one team (random but not from England) a bye in the qualifying round.

I say kick Everton out. They won't get far. Probably lose to some eastern European team. ;D
