And well, can't really blame the referee. I mean, sure, you can blame, but it was at the end of the match and besides, stuff like that happens all the time. Meaning that errors happen all the time...
Ah, too bad.

I agree that stuff like this happens quiet a lot, but it's still annoying at the moment.

Why not? What's wrong with Arjen Robben?

chances are high that you like that kind of sports. I know I do. Favourite team? Bayern Munich. Unfortunately they lost yesterday 2-4 in London, but we're going to kick the Brits out of the tournament next week in the second leg. We will! We will! We will!

Well, that's my babbling to start this long overdue thread. Your turn next.
Well, I certainly adhere to all of the above.

However, I am sorry to say, I cannot stand football one iota. I hate it. And I'm English. I despise the way how it takes priority over everything else; even important news sometimes. Most of all though, the hooliganism. Started I'm afraid to say, by us Brits. We go into Europe for matches, cause havoc and then come home/get deported. Sorry, a wee bit off-topic.

Give me sports like athletics anytime. Swimming for example. Some of the events at Athens were so gripping, with nail biting finishes.

High jump, long jump, shot putt, javelin, cycling (one of my loves).......and climbing of course. Not quite an athletic sport true, but VERY competitive, especially in Europe and the UK. It's great to watch a climber almost reach his/her goal by half a finger's length, only to miss and fall at the last moment.

Anyhoo, that's my tuppence worth. I think I'll go to bed or I will head-butt my keyboard......

Believe me, rugby at age 12 is just as hard on your body - I used to finish games covered in bruises *winces in pain at the memory of being at the bottom of a scrum *

That all changed when I started training with a local club and we began to learn various plays - everything seemed to make so much more sense

Some american friends once told me the exact same thing about baseball. But that's what I like about Soccer; you don't need to be that interested with it to watch a game and have fun.

It's games like these that make me hate football. At times.

Bayern played bad. Chelsea earned their semi-finals pass.

They lost the war in the first leg. Definitely not yesterday..... I mean.. Chelsea had like what.. two shots on goal? And scored both. Scary team. Drogba made me go insane. Too bad Makaay isn't quite there yet, after his injury.

Must've been a festival day in Russia yesterday... The linesman was sure waving that flag... The superior referee was in the mood too, looking at how he never whistled when someone went berserking over Juve players...

Juve would've deserved to win. Over a half of those offsides weren't even near. And they were better, they controlled the match almost throughout the game.

And Sammi Hyppia! He plays for Liverpool (I think he's from Finland)

I think Donovan is somewhere in Europe now (not sure though), And Beasley plays for PSV Eindhoven.

As for Champions league, I'm sorry that Barcelona is gone from the tournament. If there were any justice Chelsea and Barcelona would be in the finals. I'll be supporting PSV, but I don't think they have a chance really.

Favourite national teams: Croatia (of course) and Ireland.

Yeah, Sami Hyypiä is a finnish player. One of our so called most important players in the national team.

Usually he's a failure.

I knew I would misspell his name He's not a bad player, but he's getting old, and gets slower every time I watch him. At least he's famous

Oh wow so much has happened since last year. He moved to Bayer Leverkusen for 3 months and then he was traded again to the US to LA Galaxy.

PSV in the semi-finals of the Champions League, and AZ Alkmaar reached the semi-finals in the UEFA Cup. Nice days for a Dutch football fan

Well, to the truth, he has been amazing in the Champions League this season.

Even though I haven't actually watched any CL matches in about four years, some post office colleagues of mine have told me about Liverpool's matches more than enough. (They are complete Liverpool megafans)

I wouldn't really say amazing, but he still has his moments.
