Santana - Black Magic Woman

A legendary song.

I remember when it was on MTV... I think there's some sort of subconscious thing in it that makes you need to listen to it

(Edit): Later, now the song is
Santana & Placido Domingo - Novus

Ottmar Liebert - Summer Flamenco

I've only gotten to him recently. I had the Santana feat. Ottmar Liebert version of Samba Pa Ti, which is amazing, but never really knew anything about Liebert, even if he's real , but one day decided to check him up, and been there since

I went to a performance of her at 5 Days Off and absolutely loved it. Her beats are incredibly refreshing (esp. on 105 dB ) and she's a really energetic performer, plus she's not afraid to mix it up with politics (and I'm not talking about simplistic Bono-ish "Feed the poor" whining) and has some great lyrics, overall I think she has a great future ahead of her. Bucky Done Gun is one of the lesser songs of her album (and thus suitable for MTV ) but it still has a great beat and a catchy hook. I really want to see her collaborate with Dave Clarke or 2 Dollar Egg, that'd be...

NP; Opgezwolle - Gekkenhuis (Rico & Sticks ft. Jawat). Perhaps the best dutch rap music since... ever. Raw, clever and free of pointless gangstaism.

Benjamin Britten - Rejoice in the Lamb

Britten is one of those composers who I sometimes find very clever and sometimes find supremely irritating.

That´s a great one!
And here comes more music nostalgia: I saw Thin Lizzy in concert in Stockholm 1979. Apparently it´s considered to be one of their best concerts ever.
Whenever we go on holiday (driving long distances) we listen to a Thin Lizzy greatest hits double CD.

Karl Jenkins - The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace

I feel like such a hypocrite, because I originally criticised this based on the rather boring Benedictus. Some of it still feels a little bit too much like bad popular music, but there's also some very nice stuff here .
