Does anyone have any old, damaged photos and a scanner?
I'm looking around for people with access to a scanner and some old damaged/destroyed photos. I do freelance photo retouching and restorations, and I'm looking to start doing this as an on-the-side job. If you (or your parents) have any old photos you'd like to have restored, please let me know. I'm trying to build up my portfolio. I'll do all the work for free, which isn't a bad deal considering services like this generally cost $40-$100 per hour. It doesn't matter if someone in the photograph is missing an ear, their hair, or half their head.. almost anything can be recreated.
What you get: - A free complete photo restoration What I get: - Help adding to my currently small portfolio. If you, your parents, your friends, your grandparents, or anyone else you can think of has any photos they'd like to have restored, do the following: - Scan them at at least 200+ DPI (the higher the better) - Save them in a non-compressed format (TGA, 24/32bit BMP, etc. No JPGs or GIFs) - Zip them up. - Email me the zip file at [email protected] or post the zip in this thread. Anyway, thanks for reading. If you can help out, I'd appreciate it very much. It's not a bad deal, everyone wins. =) Thanks, Adam |

I've got no pics, but just wanted to say: Really cool! 8-)
I think the left elbow of that kid still should be retouched a little. This is my unprofessional opinion.

Heh heh, I like how those flowers garlanding the fountain looks exactly like those over-saturated coloured postcards from the 50s.

I don't want to be pert or anything, but I think you accidentally coloured some o the water green. It is seen through the trees on the left.
Otherwise: Great work! The photo of the child looks fantastic. -

I think it's awesome that you're going to go into this business. I hope it works well, and I'll try and dig up some photos for you.
In the meantime, I've got a couple of crits on the pictures. #1: The joints on the girl's hands could use a bit more work, as in the shadow not being so thick. #2: I like the way the fountain is highlighted with the red roses and all, but I think the picture has too much contrast. Lowering that a bit might be better, but I might just be talking out of my arse. #3: The part where it used to say "Morrab Gardens" looks pretty rough, you can see some heavy repetitions there. Besides that, top notch!
