2. I managed it for 25 years before I got married. So... 25 years. 3. Sometimes. In general, if the end result is positive, sure. If it is negative, then no, that isn't a good enough reason. Like "I want to kill all the whales in the ocean, to prove I can" is not okay. In the case of celibacy, I'm not sure. Seems like there are better reasons than "because I can" but since the end result is (I believe) positive, I'd say whatever helps you manage it. _________________________________________________ Same questions again. Those were interesting and very thought provoking. EDIT: (Woo! 100 pages!)

1. It sounds OK to me.
2. I could wait until I met someone who I love, who loves me back and is ready. 3. It's always good to challenge yourself, and it's not like you're harming anyone. _____ 1. What's your opinion of this thread? 2. What's your opinion of The Thread? 3. What's your opinion of (insert something of your choice here)?

2. I'm tempted to say almost indefinitely, but I suppose it depends on the circumstances. I'm not really that into sex, but that could be because it's all been bad drunken sex with people whose names I barely knew, yet alone cared anything about. If I was in a serious relationship with someone, I imagine the desire to express my affection physically would be so much stronger, and my ability to resist so much weaker. As things stand now I can quite satisfactorily take care of my sexual desires by myself - and a little help from xtube, lol. It does raise the question though, of how exactly are we defining celibacy? Is it just not having sex? Is it not receiving sexual gratification from another? Or do we go as far as to say it's not having any sexual gratification at all? According to Bill Clinton, the extent of what I do with a man isn't even sex at all, so I might have been celibate all this time without realising! See, my answer would differ dependant on these factors. 3. Possibly. I think it really comes down to what it accomplishes, and whether that's worthwhile. There are definitely better reasons for doing so. I'm not sure whether I like the notion of having to prove something to oneself to begin with. I think it's fine to test oneself now and again out of curiosity, but the idea of proving gives the impression that there's an internal conflict, and fundamentally you disbelieve what you're trying to tell yourself, so you're stubbornly embarking on a course of action instead of being honest with yourself. I'll repost these questions:

1. I like this thread. I like to read other people's opinions. It's a pity that people sometimes answer very thought-provoking questions with 'yes' or 'no' though.
2. I have no opinion about it because I stay clear of it. 3. I think Squinky must be proud that her thread reached 100 pages already. No questions from me tonight. Too tired... |

2) If we're talking traditional feminine, then cooking and such. I take care of the house in my family. Plus I try to help people and listen a lot when they need someone to listen. 3) I guess similar to #1. When I get mad when losing or something isn't fair, I tend to lash out more than I should. Emotion takes over. Usually to my own harm, no one else's. Also drooling is a lot of fun if you just sit there and let go, but I haven't done that since I was a teenager. Good times... (Just don't wear nice clothes when doing so, and not in public places.) Man that makes me sound weird. Ah well, I was a pretty weird teen. I'm stealing your first two, they were really good. ____________________________________ 1. How does your masculine side manifest itself? 2. How does your feminine side manifest itself? 3. Which side of the above two is more apparent in everyday life?

1. When my wife isn't home, I dress up in her clothes and perform show tunes in my bedroom.
2. I hang out with my male friends and act just like "one of the guys", all the while oblivious to the fact that they all want to have sex with me. 3. Well, only the neighbourhood kids have seen me in drag, and I've captured and hidden them in my basement and replaced them with androids, so I think it's perfectly fine to assume that my secret's safe for now. *** 1. What is masculinity to you? 2. What is femininity to you? 3. How do you feel about androgyny?

Androgyny is neither male nor female (or at least indistinguishable as one or the other)

2. Sometimes. It depends on the situation. Most of the time, I suppose. But then I remember I forget things all the time, so I need to go easier on them. 3. Probably the exact same thing I do now (which would be cartoons, comics, and art) but I'd have an extremely modern studio with a team of slaves- I mean, "assistants" to help me reach the world. Also I would buy some Super Bowl commercials, and eat organic food. -------------------------------- 1) Do you plan on changing the world, or just living in it? 2) If you could make contact with an alien race, not knowing the results, would you? 3) What is your second favorite color?

Yeah right. Even if I wasn't American, I'm still an ARTIST so I'm obviously going to spell it with the method that takes one less key stroke. In fact, I think I may start taking useless letters out of more words. Does "useless" really need that extra e and s? Usles works JUST fine, eh?

Anyway, it grows rather poorly. 1) because I'm a terrible gardener and 2) because it's winter. 2. Depends if it's worded well. If it's JUST criticism, not much. If it's coupled with happy supportive cheer as well, plenty. 3. Not much. So I try to avoid it when possible.
