Yeah. Although the next week's preview spoiled the "what's gonna happen?!" anticipation part of it. I think I'm gonna have to stop watching those.

The product placement was quite jarring though. The pilot episode was broadcast with limited commercial interruptions and their main ad was for the Nissan Versa. Lo and behold, Hiro and his friend want to rent a car at the airport and they ask for a... Nissan Versa.

A Versa add is also featured in every iteration of their web-comic.

Not really, these people are some how genitally enhanced. Like the cheerleader. She had tried to killer herself 7 or 8 times now and she can’t die. There is a man then go through the space time continuum and so one. The show has just started, I've only seen 2 episode and so far it pretty good.

I'm going to assume you meant "genetically". Okay?

Anyway, to me being completely immortal due to genetic tampering sounds like a comic book superpower. Not that there's anything wrong with that- I love modern superhero comics. (The fact that famous comic writer Jeph Loeb is involved with this series would seem to support that classification.)

Yeah, she meant genetic. It seems different than other super hero stories in that they don't have costumes and don't have this super hero presence like Spiderman or Superman or Batman. They are still trying to come to grips with their abilities and what it all means.

So, a low-key approach to superheroes then. Sounds cool.

Bulldog, it was a funny typo and I read it as genetically because I knew what you meant. It wasn't til Mory pointed it out that I saw it. We know where your mind is. Who knows, maybe they're enhanced there too.

I recommend seeing Unbreakable, then, if you haven't already.

I didn't really pay attention to next week's previews, which is good.

Learning what the cheerleader's adoptive dad is up to is going to be interesting. And what about her:

Spoiler:
natural parents? I wonder if they'll have any abilities? And why are there these genetic mutations? I think that's what the Indian dude is up to.

I'm glad you said that AFG because Im positive there trying to pull a Schamalan on us. Here are a few ideas I have.

1.
Spoiler:
I am positive that the agent is not a bad guy, I think he has been protecting the girl and trying to find Silas

2.
Spoiler:
The reason he is protecting the girl is that Silas steals the powers of other people and if he gets her he will be invulnerable.

3.
Spoiler:
Since the show has said 'You have seen the face of evil' and I am almost positive it isn't the man in glasses then it has to be one of the other charectors, I have several in mind but waiting for more info.

Those are my ideas, they might be great and might be BS but we will find out

My guess is that there are going to be more evil "heroes" people who use the power in the wrong way.

Loved episode 3 especially the bit at the end when claire woke up and looked down "Holy Shit".

Other good bits were the cop scene in the bar when he scans everyones mind. I thought he was going to talk to the suicidal lady before he hit on the empty mind.

Hiro was funny as usual.

Look forward to the next episode.

What do you think was up with that empty mind?

Spoiler:
I wondered for a bit if it was Sylar.

That question isn't just for Lucien if anyone else has any thoughts.

BTW, for the US, if you miss Mondays episode, they show it again on the SciFi channel on Friday at 7E/P and 6C.

It's either Sylar, or the script is foreshadowing that there are possibly just as many evil people with powers as there are good guys. Also, do you think the appearance of the powers is tied into that eclipse in the first episode? If not, how do you think they'll explain the sudden appearance of these powers in people?

That's two votes.

Hmm, I don't know. There's the whole Muhindar story investigating his father's research into evolution and his thoughts on these people with special abilities. Was the possibility there all along and the eclipse did something to trigger it. Realistically, it probably wouldn't but this isn't a realistic show so who knows?

I've got only House and Lost coming in Finland from the telly, I wanted to see this one too as there has been so much talk about it.

I know what I said in that other thread, but I just had to watch this one right now and I can say that I give my thumbs up for this show, really good start.

I'm 100% sure that a year from now, Finnish tv will start to air Heroes too, same goes for Swedish tv.

I loved the scene on the subway:

Spoiler:
Seeing Hiro as confident, strong, AND speaking fluent English...man, that was awesome. But it took me a second to realize who he was, lol. And that SWORD!!! Whoa!
