I hope I have that much luck once I get out of school and get a full-time job.

Dear Aggie:
I came home from a little shopping with my wife to discover that my keyboard had been delivered. The Yamaha DGX-620 portable grand piano. It's nice. I've already begun working with it, laying down the first couple of tracks and ironing out a third as we speak. I'm looking forward to playing this for some time to come. |

I did some festive baking today. I made mince pies, and cheese scones, and flapjacks, and other things. It was fun, and also necessary. Last week I wielded a saw when I erected the Christmas tree, then operated a soldering iron when I fixed something. It was all a bit butch, so this week I had to balance things out, lol.

Lee, congrats on the new keys. I haven't gotten any in years.
Ob Blog: I have keyboards I'm not using. So sad. I'm still playing guitar, but great devices are gathering dust in my basement. *sigh*

Yeah, I have a rack of guitars and a multi-track recorder that largely sat unused until recently. I only occasionally took my guitar or bass out to practice. However, I've started recording some new music, so they're getting used more often now. |

Good for you. I see many fine instruments on the wall there. Nice rack on the wall!
ObBlog: I built a large studio in my previous life, many guitars, several keyboards, drums and bass, plus a studio capable of 96 tracks of live audio, with several fine microphones, racks of processing equipment, huge 24 track console, and a floor in the house totally mine, with isolation rooms. Then the divorce came down. I moved back to the city and rebuilt the studio in a basement with the full intent of carrying on, but never did. So I envy you returning to your craft. I hope I can follow in your footsteps one day. Good on ya!

Thanks FGM, tsa, Squinky, Lee in Limbo, Not A Speck Of Cereal.
Dear Bloggie, Why does live have to be such a roller coaster sometimes? Though I did sign the permanent contract on Thursday of this week, something really depressing happened on Tuesday... I had to go to the vet and my trusty old friend Lolli had to be given an injection... She was an iron lady, over 16 years she was my true friend and a good dog... but I know that she is in a better place now, no need for her to suffer anymore. RIP Lolli (1991-2007)

Sorry, Kolzig. Why can't cats and dogs live longer? They're our best friends! FGM

It's a quiet, cloudy day, my head is ringing slightly for no reason I can think of, and I still have some last minute stuff to take care of. I'm procrastinating, which is really bad right now. I need to get out that door, pronto, but I'm sore and tired and all I really want to do is stay inside and do quiet things. Tomorrow is going to be a madhouse, with four dogs, four cats and ten people minimum at my Mom's house. I'm still not one with the holiday spirit, so this is about as welcome as a sack of golf balls landing on my head.
Ah well, enough whining. Have a Merry Christmas, everybody. |

I have come to the conclusion that since its inception, Christmas has completely gone entirely out of hand and turned into something radically different from what it was intended to be. Therefore, from next year onwards, I am proposing that there be two separate holidays: the Christmas Media and Business Summit, which will be invitation-only and intended for religious professionals so as to provide a more intimate atmosphere where the birth of Jesus will be emphasized, and the "X For All" Expo, which will accomodate the public demand for a major, annual materialistic gift-giving event.
