The only drawing I do nowadays is doodling during those super boring management meetings at work. (Or when talking on the phone)

Nice skyline you drew there, Erwin! And wouldn't you love to have The Hoff's car?

Created from scratch on my computer. It's the "map" of a planet that'll be used in a 'simulation' in Crimson Feather called Planetshine. It could probably use some blurring and a mist effect for more atmosphere, but overall, I'm very, very happy with this.

No symbolism, actually. Though I've looked at it a few times before, too, and thought, "That looks like it ought to be significant." But, eh, no. Just another continent.
It's strangely hard to make continents with no symbolic baggage. As you see, I failed. It's the first planet I've ever tried to draw. I made a couple of maps before, but this upped the necessary detail and time a bit. I'm looking forward to whenever I'll next have an opportunity to do that sort of thing... and then I'll put more than two days of sporadic work into it. I'm just continually amazed what one can create from scratch with the simplest tools. Maybe this'll motivate someone else to create something with the computer rather than pen and pencil. Who knows? Edit - Oh, I just realised this is probably relevant (if it's supposed to motivate anyone at all, I mean): The image isn't downscaled, it was created at the size you see it at.

This is a photograph I did for a project I presented today. I had others that I probably liked more for my actual photography class, but they were all in 35mm...I'll post them when I get around to scanning them in.

Cool, how did you do that? I like the atmosphere, the colours, and the TV with static on it... (Suddenly the words 'Find April, Save April' pop into my head...). Very cool picture.

It looks more like a plug than a rope to me, I think.
And that is indeed a very cool shot. Did you re-expose the film to make it? Peace & Luv, Liz

Haha, no I intended to do it in 35mm, and I even shot the photos, but it turned out the campus darkroom was closed the week I needed to print it. So at the last minute I reshot it digitally.
And yes, it is a plug. Also, thanks tsa. What I really like about the picture is what you mentioned about atmosphere. That was the goal, really. I almost think the multiplicity is maybe too distracting?

More computer art. Nothing all too special, just... nice. I'm liking my dabblings in the medium, it's (surprisingly) fairly new to me. (Both intended for a black background. No lectures about alpha channel transparency and PNG, please, I'm fully aware and don't have to be educated.)

I am applying for vaguely arty jobs in corporate America. Because they pay top dollar for one's karma. If I have to die a little inside every day for a few years until I get something interesting going, I will do it for a lot of money (as opposed to say, working in a restaurant or something).
When I looked at my art from the corporate eyes, I realized that it was terrifying and horrific and frightening and awesome and bad and ack and ick and phooey. It is easy to misinterpret my gleeful mockery of everything the great mediocre masses stand for, for boastful toasts to the Devil himself. So I took most of the weird stuff out of my portfolio... it will come back as soon as I find a job of sorts. |

Jayel, any chance of a happy-ending sequel to the cat comic? I get sad just thinking about it.
