What is that girl on the new HoT game site doing?
House of Tales has a new game coming out. It's likely this game called Overclocked. There is a website up but it features only one image, of a girl! What is the girl (possibly named Vic

I'd say: Longing for Martin and the animation crew to finish her.

My first thought on seeing the picture is that she was being abducted. So I'm sticking with that. She's probably being abducted by helicopter pilots, to be specific.

Hmm... another character from Fahrenheit, committing murder which she didn't want?

If I was to be critical, I'd say it's a very stiff pose, especially with the way the hand is held which makes it feel like - "Look! I have a gun!". The problem is the pose is "doubled" (in animation l337 speak again) with both arms and legs doing the same thing, so it doesn't feel dynamic.
If I was to offer advice, I'd suggest reducing it in size and have her standing rather than sitting and have a more "reactive" pose to make it feel more like it's flowing.

She's bracing herself for a kung-fu kick to the stomach that will shatter the dinner plate she has stashed under her shirt. Probably some sort of "Extreeeeme Circus" act.
The gun's for part 2 of the act. |

She's breakdancing for sure. And she's showing off to her homies that she got the balls to do it carrying a loaded gun in her hand.

You know, the more I look at vic or joy, the more I like the toning and such. Hope that this is the real model they use in the game, rather than just a picture...

I think she's in the middle of falling over. She's been shot from behind, which made her fall to her knees, and now she's about to finally fall down, probably forward. But the motion isn't complete yet.

The fact this thread exists should point out the pose doesn't tell a story. We don't get much emotion nor information from the pose as it stands. In animation we tend to stick to strong "silhouettes" as they make things easy to read... The Illusion Of Life by Disney is a good starting point for showcasing how sillhouettes are very important when communicating via visuals. It's no mistake that Pinnochio on the cover, on the first pose, is a black shape - the point is you can "read" the pose from that shape.
edit - I hope no-one feels I'm being hyper-critical or "big-headed" here. I don't actually know the story of the picture, but it's also hard to make out a story from it. I'm just offering the kind of critical opinion I'd get if I handed in an image to my director. If it helps Martin in some way, then great! Strong images sell things quickly.

I think she's been rendered unconscious (maybe by poison gas or a poison dart) and her knees have buckled just before she goes crashing to the floor.

I like it, whatever she's doing. It's intriguing. Definitely makes me want to know more. (And I do get emotion from it, btw. Can't quite put my finger on what that emotion is... but I don't feel like I need to know exactly what it is, yet. Although knowing House of Tales, this is probably going to be a story that shows why violence is bad, and the woman is probably acting against her interests, doing things she doesn't want to do. That's my guess, anyway.) Quote:

You exist only to counter my opinions.
I gave valid, pro reasons as to why I personally feel this image isn't very strong. It doesn't say anything to me nor reads well (point in hand, this thread). The pose doesn't hint at anything in particular and suffers from mirroring. RARGH! SO THERE! Besides, I'm offering merely my opinion. So poop to you, smellycat.
