Yes, that is how they are in the full game too.
I'm also puzzled by this...I can't understand why those specific screens look so bad and the rest of the graphics (well except from the cut scenes of course) are pretty good.

I've read on the official 3CtM forum that in some cases it might help to change the resolution in Windows to 1024 x 768. Not sure what problems it will solve, though.

Probably will make the horrible hunt scenes look a little less horrible. Maybe you can tell a lump of sh.. coal from an 8-ball by knocking your screen rez back to 1994?

Still. It won't 'fix' the fact that it's not an adventure game but an inane HOG with a story so packed full of cliches it's gotta be an inside joke.
