I thiiiiink those net-things are used to collect fallen leaves, so that they don't fall onto the ground? Maybe a lawn-enthusiast would know more than me
Hehe, it's kind of funny how we're discussing the fuction of a net out of all things... Oooh I wish I could play it! XD |

I think the net thingy is for kids, not leaves. Notice it's right next to the kids playground stuff. So if the little ones climb up the tree, they MIGHT be protected if they fall. Or maybe it's to not let the cat climb up? Probably not.
Heavy Rain could be the game that finally pulls me into the PS3 camp (besides Resident Evil 5, which has been rumored to come to PC sometime in the future). Of course, I'd love for it to come to the PC too, but I doubt it.

I am lucky and have a ps3 and will be looking forward to this. I've been a pc gamer my whole life but nice to see the adventure genre being reborn a bit. It's also nice that they are being shown on major consoles like the ps3 and 360 imo. Between this and Alan Wake it's going to be good.
All criticism's aside that's what it comes down to for me. I'd rather try something new then nothing at all, and both these games are very impressive and are adventure "games". Because it's not what you want, doesn't mean it's bad. A lot of people think this game is really brilliant. I do think Alan Wake will appeal to the more traditional fan in that regard and will do some amazing things as well. Both are groundbreaking titles graphically and also the way they are going about things. Escpecially for the adventure genre. These games will shape how we see games in the future imo failures and all. Alan Wake is to Stephen king what this game is to Silence of hte lambs. Both games have a ton of atmospere and are visually stunning in different ways(alan wake for it's scope and heavy rain for it's life like models and attention to detail). I think Alan Wake will follow the more tried and true approach and have chapters and certain Grand Theft Auto open world tried and true approaches to the genre. Alan Wake isn't going to be GTA per say, and won't be as action oriented and will be more story driven and decision based which will make it more of an adventure game in an open world. But it's going with a more chapter driven approach that will advance the game. It will also have more traditional gameplay mechanics as far as visiting various locals and interacted with different things. It will also probably have more traditional fighting and driving sequences. This game looks to be trying something entirely different and something that might not appeal to everyone but will be groundbreaking in it's own right. The ps3 tends to be taking a different approach with their games which is good for the industry imo. Maybe they are being outbid by microsoft but they are still getting games that are very progressive in nature and impressive in their own right. The 360 got Alan Wake which is the clear heavy hitter and will sell and sell and sell to the mainstream. The ps3 took one of the best and most unique pc adventure franchises in recent times and turned it into something really stunning. They are also getting games that fit their audience and the strengths of the system. Saying the ps3 doesn't h ave games and all the games on it are crap, you obviously don't own one, becaue the ps3 is probably the strongest console right now as far as "story-driven" action adventure games with games like Uncharted, MGS and now Heavy Rain. The 360 and PC don't really have much to match that right now as far as newer games. Adventure games are far and in between these days but the ps3 is actually stronger in this area. If you look at it that way and are open minded I don't see how you won't find something to like in this game. People are harping on QTE and saying this is an interactive movie, but I don't think people understand how interactive it will be, and what it will be like actually playing it. I personally think it's going to be something people have never experienced. It will be a shame if people just run it off as another dragon's lair. Because it's not that at all. This, alanwake and new silenthill on Wii, are all adventures.
Specially if preview of silenthill is anything to go by, gunfights are gone, all you need is to run away form enemies, so action is changed into escaping. In alanwake recent interviews it has been pointed out that it will be silenthill in approach, there will be guns and light as weapon but more emphasize on adventure aspects. As far HR appeal goes, people like short bursts of gameplay, and chapter nature of heavy and gameplay structure that you can end up with your own decisions, even killing lead characters can atleast catch any casual, also the graphics which will attract noobs, so all it needs justice in 'marketing' department. No news qdream, all those artworks are again posted on some sites, i know they are holding it for big E3 reveal(probably playable), happening on june 2nd. But anyways recent PSN episode was NICE, check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRsShceSkZY Yeah i know chick is hot! I personally want heavyrain to be released before fall, other wise it will be lost in general games hype, people have too much to buy and they play safe bets like modernwarfare2, mafia2, BS2 etc. |

Thanx for that link nomad, I missed that one
Well you are right about the fact that it should be released before fall but in order for that to happen the exact date should be released very very soon which I don't quite imagine happening given the amount of info and media we have so far.. |

They had all the mocap and scenes done sincel last year, and thats the main work.
I remember david saying that now joining parts is what is lefe to be done along with final polishing for that i thing 9 months is enough time. And we heard less because sony wont show its all titles just like that they surely are holding it for E3. Come to think of it, some games dont show much untill release date is near, like batmanA , and rockstar games etc. I am guessing september, lets wait, for e3 46 days are left. |

Well let's hope so but the thing that bugs me most is that it's PS3 exclusive and I have no idea how I will play it, I have no intention of buying PS3 in the near future

Heads up 360 can't handle heavyrain
http://ps3.nowgamer.com/news/504/dav...not-run-on-360 Embargo is lifting on 21-22, GTTV will have exclusive next week, and 22 all other media outlets will reveal. http://i43.tinypic.com/k2fsr8.jpg Also The Spanish site Meristation mentioned a few weeks ago that the localised voice acting was done already. I guess everything points at that it will be out this year. |

Does it attach to the red playhouse behind it? Maybe it's a sort of deck for the playhouse? |

I overestimated and overhyped it, i felt nothing, GT coverage was so dissapointing apart form sex and nudity confirmation.
However 1up exclusive have new footage which is cool, check screen at back. Needs heavy work on VAs, lipsynch and motions. And for some reason madison's chapter feels more polished and interesting than this new guy. And geoff said next year? WTF? Delaystation.........DAMN IT! |
