Which Dracula game are you referring to? There are numerous AGs by that title.

Thanks for the vote.

Now that the Top Ten Runoff is complete I was curious to see what are the most popular adventure series. So I have analyzed all the votes and put together this little info sheet below comprising everything which ranked in the top 100. For “Average Ranking” I took the average vote for each game from between this thread and the Top Ten Runoff thread (the first vote is its ranking in this thread, the second from the Top Ten finalist). If a game did not rank in the top the then I gave it the arbitrary ranking of #120.

Interestingly enough, the popular Legend of Kyrandia and Police Quest games did not make the cut despite their popularity, so make of this what you will. Of those series that did not rank in the top #100 “average ranking” the Star Trek series collected 10 overall points, the Sherlock Holmes series collected 9 overall points, the Legend of Kyrandia series collected 5 overall points, and Police Quest managed 4 overall points (interestingly enough each of the games received exactly 1 point!).

GABRIEL KNIGHT SERIES

My favourites are:

1. The Last Express
2. Grim Fandango
3. Fahrenheit
4. Blade Runner
5. Myst
6. Outcast
7. Shenmue
8. Discworld Noir
9. The Longest Journey
10. Syberia

Those adventure games really impressed me when they came out, although I have to admit that I am not a big fan of the genre overall due to the fact that most "genre conventions" really annoy me. Therefore I have chosen mostly games that stand on their own.

Other games I would put on such a list, though I am aware of the fact that they are genre-mixes, are Psychonauts, Silent Hill 2, Beyond Good and Evil and Knights of the old Republic.

I base my top 10 on these factors:

1. Most importantly - has to have a great story. It must be consistant and balanced - not too long (which is the case with some AGs).
2. Have a perfect balance in character - this includes voice acting.
3. Correct atmosphere - graphics and sound
4. Well intergrated controls

Unless the puzzles are really obtuse I don't base an AG on its puzzles, as a good one will have puzzles well implimented into it.

I guess it's worth mentioning I've not played any Tex Murphey game, not played the first two MI games or Gabriel Knight 2 (I've played 3).
Just so people don't questions why for some reason they're not on my list.

Top 10:
1. Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templers
2. Grim Fandango
3. Silent Hill 2 (SH3 is my fav, but SH2 is best for story).
4. Discworld Noir
5. Myst: Revelations
6. Still Life
7. Full Throttle
8. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers
9. Curse of Monkey Island
10. Blazing Dragons

10. Atlantis - The lost tales
9. Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis
8. Discworld Noir
7. Syberia 1 and 2 (same game but two different episodes)
6. Sanitarium
5. Broken Sword 2 - The Smoking Mirror
4. Monkey Island 2 - Lechucks Revenge
3. Black Mirror
2. Secret of Monkey Island
1. Broken Sword - The Shadow of the Templars

just outside top ten:
Dreamfall
Broken Sword 3 - The Sleeping Dragon
Beneath a Steel Sky
Curse of Monkey Island
and
Beyond good and evil (if that counts)
and YES, I have played and finished Grim Fandango.

What do people here think of this game? I think it was really good. The puzzles were great, the story had some flaws but some of the characters were interesting so it didn't matter much to me. Could have had better sceneries though but still a really good game (much better then The Sleeping Dragon and just as good, if not better, then Shadow of the templars). Although The Smoking Mirror is still my favourite BS-game.

Well i thought the game was buggy, the story weak mainly because of the many, many plotholes, the camera and controls where crappy, the graphics where oke but george looked pretty crappy, and the coverart sucked harder then any other game i have ever seen. But i had some fun with it, especialy the second half of the game so it wasn't all bad. But, and i never thought i would say this, I really don't need to play BS5. I'll probably play it if it ever comes out but they don't have to make one as far as i'm conserend.

Well I agree about BS5. I prefer new games over sequels in almost all cases actually.

I thought Broken Sword - The Angel of Death was a good game, but not close to the other three. Although, the humor was excellent, probably the best for a Broken Sword game.
I would think it would be really strange if there will not be a BS5, I can almost ensure you there will, as long as Broken Sword 4 sold as much as Broken Sword 3.

You think The Sleeping Dragon was better? The first two are a tough call which one's the best, but the third is easily a step back for me. Still an all right game though.
