Adventure Game Sound..uh game
Here's a new idea I concocted based on Captain Blondebeard thread.
Simple as this.. name the game based on the short audio clip you hear. Ok it's not as easy to create audio as it is to copy and paste a game scene, but for you resourceful ones out there, I'm sure we could upload a few here and there. I recorded a section of a game with fraps, converted to wmv and extracted the audio as mp3. It's not much bigger than the size of a jpg. I'll try and make a few more. Whoever gets this can either have a go themselves or pass it on to someone else. See how it goes anyway. Try this one. http://freespace.virgin.net/roman.fi...ery%20game.mp3 |

Jeysie also started a game like this a little while ago.

ffs, people don't even try and be entertained. Nobody has even attempted to guess the game from a lousy 200kb file. What a waste of time.

Well, there is the Adventure Scene Game, the Non-adventure scene game, The Non-adventure quote game and I started the Adventure Trivia Game knowing full well it could bomb. Maybe there's just too many games for people to pay attention to.
I've come to realize that some threads just don't take off. Part of forum life, I guess. |

Fair enough. But you'd think with the dozens of members who frequent this forum that maybe one or two would be somewhat interested in attempting to play. If it was a 5mb file I could understand, but it's just over 200kb, lol. Never mind eh

Anyhoo. You could also try Game Audio Player to extract sound clips directly, although it can take a while to find the exact clip you want that way. As for the sound clip, I listened to it yesterday, but I can't place it. The only game I can remember playing straight off-hand that had the main character asking after hotel guests is Gabriel Knight 3, and I don't think I remember the clerk having that sort of accent. Thanks jeysie. I must say, I looked up threads under your name yesterday and didn't find a similar sound game thread as melanie had said.
This soundbite is from a game made in 2002. Reviews were generally mixed. AG thought it was shocking apart from the graphics and story, and JA gave it a pretty high score. On here, a lot of people said it wasn't very good, but some kinda liked it as a shortish adventure game. |

I was wrong about it being Jeysie (sorry) but someone had started a thread posting a piece of music from a game and asking what game scene it was from. I thought it was Jeysie because she's done some game music stuff before.
I'll see if I can find so I don't look like a complete ass. Last edited by Melanie68; 08-16-2006 at 08:35 AM. |

If this thread were to take off ( unlikely by the looks of things) I was thinking, apart from just dialogue snippets, it might be fun to post either main theme or incidental music from a game and try to tell the game just from the music.

Based on your hints I'll guess Post Mortem.

Yay.
You can make a new one if you want, Roman. Or anyone else.

Here's another one I just took out the oven. I haven't played this enough yet, only a little way into it. But I think you're gonna find this very easy. It's music only, and from a famous game.
