Hmm, based on the previous hints, would 2 be from the Mayan or Shambhala segment of Beyond Atlantis/Atlantis II?

nice work Trunkyo! It's indeed song called Tepec while in Mexico. And here's the review of that soundtrack.

01. 00:00 Escape from Monkey Island - Lucre Town (Trunkyo)
02: 00:34 Beyond Atlantis - Tepec (Trunkyo)
03. 01:07 Hans Christian Andersen: The Ugly Prince Duckling - Main Theme (SpeedBo)
04. 01:43 Shadow of Memories aka Shadow of Destiny - Dana's Theme (Origami)
05. 02:19 Cameron Files 2: Pharaoh's Curse, Theme (Trunkyo)
06. 03:01 Quest for Glory V: Dragon Fire - Silmarian Meanderings Day (zane, Kurufinwe)
07. 03:29 Myst III: Exile - Main Theme (harald)
08. 04:04 Road to India, Theme (Shany)
09. 04:39 BONUS TRACK: Outlaws - Sanchez the Outlaw (SpeedBo)
10. 05:18 Jack the Ripper (2004) - Theatre Pub (Shany)
11. 05:54 Shivers II: Harvest of Souls - Lonely Place (ollie)

That's it, good job all! I thought it's gonna be even more harder, but you were right up to it. I'm still not sure about the Cameron Files 2 and Road to India as where exactly the songs play, i think they are main themes as well.

I think the Road to India one plays during the game, and it would make sense for it to play in the temple at the end, but I remember that section being quiet.

Kurufinwe, your medley mp3 from page 17, what is the game at 04:43 to 05:18? It's a groovy upbeat violin and harmonica piece, sounds like stephane grappelli meets toots thielman. Love it!

Here's one I just made. It's a game I've not finished and have continued it again today. The music throughout is great but this piece is my favourite. I left some sound effects in so you'll probably get the game easily.

You might have missed it, but that was the opening/end credits song from Professor Layton and the Curious Village.

As for your contribution... I know I've played it before but I can't put my finger on it. Mata Hari?

You're correct Trunkyo. It's the piece of music that plays when she arrives at Berlin station. Or in fact, it seems to be one of two different pieces that play there.

I've got Professor Layton and the Curious Village on my DS, I don't recall hearing that tune yet, I'll have to dig it out.

From a post on page 18 (You mean you didn't read every single page of this thread before asking your question? I'm disappointed. ):

The soundtracks for the Layton games were released on CD in Japan and can be purchased from play-asia. I really like them.

It's music time again!

Spring is in the air, and what better thing to do than to listen to some game music?!

Well... for a couple of us music fanatics at least.

You know the drill - there are 20 music pieces from 20 different games, don't guess 'em all at once. No tricks this time - no hybrid adventures and all tunes are from relatively well known games, although some of them might spice the things up. Good luck!

Thanks for putting this together, Diego! And a nice selection, too.

No. 1 is driving me crazy! There's one game that really comes to mind, but since I'm almost certain that No. 3 is from the game in question, then 1 must be something else... And I can't put my finger on it. Argh.

Anyway, let's start with the low-hanging fruits (though not the lowest-hanging fruits, I still have some pride left): I'm pretty sure that 14 is

A welcome change from the visual quizzes, Diego! Although my musical memory is not very good. For me, the lowest-hanging fruit are the games I instantly recognize, within one or two seconds. Only 5 of those in this quiz. Kuru has got a point, so I'll skip all low-hanging fruit and go out on a limb.

10.
Spoiler:
The first game I thought of was Legend of the Prophet and the Assassin. And then another game came to mind which may be wrong too...

Yay, another music quiz! A great selection, diego. I'm pretty sure of six of them, and a few others I just know I've heard before but can't quite place.

Is 19. from

1 sounded like

Spoiler:
Blackwell, but I realized playing it again that it's actually lady Piemont on piano from the Ubu hotel in BS1 !!!

I know 4 and I'm still listening...

Edit: This is fun ! and I recognized another 4 songs...

What is the time between guesses ?
I don't know how long we have to wait for the next guess...

Wow, I'm very curious about some of these tunes. The only ones I could recognize were very iconic ones, though. Such as number 6:
Spoiler:
Freddy Pharkas.
Number 20 sounded like it may have been composed by
Spoiler:
Stéphane Picq,
but I suppose it might as well not be. I haven't played the game it's taken from, anyway.

Ok, let's see... #1 is correct kate me - there you go Kurufinwe #14 is also right, Samael the piano player:

Lewton: Play it again, Sam.
Samael: You know what? No one's ever going to believe you said that.

Fien, that's not it, this one is more recent than TLotPatA, although it also involves some middle-eastern country, or more specifically it's heard while the hero is in one of the more popular "adventure game region"

#19 is correct too (see if you can place it), and the rest of the guesses are right.

@harald i don't know how you did it but you got the composer right! now try to guess which game is it

as for the Freddie Pharkas song, i used the non-singing version, you can find the singing one featuring Al Lowe himself here

and the Gray Matter one which plays in main menu is piano version of David's theme as ollie said, which you can find here

1. 00:00 Broken Sword - Hotel Ubu [kate me]
2. 00:36
3. 1:00 Gray Matter - Main Menu Theme [ollie]
4. 1:34
5. 2:01
6. 2:41 Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist - The Ballad of Freddy Pharkas (Prologue) [harald]
7. 3:23
8. 4:03
9. 4:44
10. 5:20
11. 5:57
12. 6:37
13. 7:07
14. 7:40 Discworld Noir - Cafe Ankh [Kurufinwe]
15. 8:08
16. 8:47
17. 9:33
18. 10:09
19. 10:46 Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within, where? [Trunkyo]
20. 11:29

there are no exactly specific rules, but a good hint of some basic guidelines can be found in Kurufinwe's post here
