I don't think it looks that bad. The backgrounds could use more details, though, especially the sky. And for once, the character model's eyes look as if they're actually focused on something rather than looking straight ahead and lifeless. Actually, I think it looks pretty good.

So the game is point and click, but with these graphics?
I don't think it looks too bad, I mean I've never expected AMAZING graphics from Adventure Games, and this doesn't look too bad.
I'll still be at the store on the release date.

I mean, OK, you can't expect every game to look technically perfect, but those BS4 shots are just uninspired.

It's still early in development right? Maybe the hi-res textures haven't been added. I hope there aren't as many crate pushing puzzles this time around. The more pure adventure this stays, the better. I liked BS3 but at times it felt like Tomb Raider.

They should have made this in 2d. That'd be better than making this in 3D.
But it might also just be work in progress.

It was scheduled to be released this coming summer, but ebgame's preorder suggests that it may have slipped till the autumn. There's definitely still time for improvement though, whatever the release date is.

what the hell is this, it is just BS3(decent game) with different places and even if Revolution is on a low budget, it can still get you decent quality graphics. If this is the final graphics Charles Cecil or whoeveris talking

Broken Sword 3 looks so much more stylish.

As for A Vampyre Story, I'm not convinced that's any kind of current gameplay screen. Looks like high quality concept art to me, or at least, the background looks like it's 2D pre-rendered or hand-drawn, so of course it's going to look better. The jaggies I see in the BS4 screenshots tells me the backgrounds might not be pre-rendered (sort of like Out From Boneville or something). Maybe I'm mistaken about that, though.

Give Revolution millions of dollars and they might come up with graphics similar to Bethesda's.

I don't like the graphics much either, but seriously, from when did graphics matter that much. Whoever says gamers don't care about graphics is full of it.

It was miles better looking as was BS3. I hope these are just early because this is even more dated than you'd expect. If they aren't early, then I have a feeling there are going to be changes based on this and I'm sure other threads.

If a game costs $50, why would I care about the budget behind it? I have no idea what kind of money is/was being put into Dreamfall or Indigo Prophecy but they both look quite a bit better than this.

Anyway, technical aspect aside, the real issue is the lack of any artistic direction in those screenshots. Dull camera angles and colors can't be blamed on a lack of budget. Which is why I used the word "uninspired."

the devil is in the details - and BS4 lacks them.
now it looks more like 1999's GK3 than 2002's BS3...
and the last time i've checked the game should be released in 2007.

it lacks all the details that should be in a polished commercial game. as it seems revolution has made a major mistake releasing these early screenshots, they should've wait for a better screenshot, and not releasing these lame excuse for a screenshot. since thes screenshot create more negative hype than positive one

b.t.w the budget is not an excuse - BS4 has more bubget than for example - ankh and bone , and yet they look better.

Who said the game is retailing for 50 dollars? I hope it goes for more of the budget 29.99 PC game value.
