I have compared this thread with a thread I created on RPGWatch. I find it interesting that adventuregamers are often likely to be "masterminds" (puzzlesolvers) where as roleplayers are often likely to be "seekers".
A very interesting survey. I posted the company about the problem with "No Mercy" appearing on all sologamers surveys. Quote:

I have the same problem with my connection on Left 4 Dead. I've decided (once i get the cable) that i'm going to hook my 360 to my PC monitor and speakers, for better picture and audio quality, and connect to Xbox Live via Ethernet. My router is sitting right next to my Xbox as well, so my connection should (theoretically) be great. *fingers crossed* Quote:

The original because we (me and my gf) don't like watching remakes first, unless they're widely regarded as superior but I can't think of many that are...? Dawn of the Dead was a pretty decent remake as was The Ring. I didn't know there was a remake actually. We were a little torn between watching the b/w or the coloured version and after viewing about 10 minutes in colour we stuck with it. I really enjoyed it, and was refreshed to see a black protagonist. The females were a little weak but I didn't find it at all distracting considering the circumstances. I like the decision making part way through regarding the cellar as a safe haven compared to the rest of the house but it was also very risky. I also found the zombies silent slow moving far creepier than the Left4Dead, 28 Days Later, Dead Set style zombies. All in all, I was well impressed.
We nearly watched the original b/w version of Lord of the Flies but I turned it off after 5 minutes arguing that it would only do the book a disservice! Quote:
I'm going wired as soon as I move house so hopefully connection problems will be gone! My router is a bastard to get working with the PS3 too so again, wired will solve everything. If your router is next to your Xbox and PC then get them wired up! No more WEP/WPA PSK/Access list/IP nonsense just one solid, reliable connection!

I decided to get the original when I bought the boxed set of George Romero's zombie trilogy. Now, after seeing both of them, I'm not sure which I prefer. I like them both really for different reasons. The original was still an interesting watch and was certainly enjoyable. I like the remake because it's in colour, although I wasn't put off because the original is in black and white, and it's more gory. I agree that the females are weak in the original. Especially Barbara who was completely catatonic throughout most of the movie. I kinda preferred her becoming more resourceful and stronger in the remake, but I like it how none of the survivors make it in the original. Also, (a minor detail) it made more sense that Tom and Judy (the teen couple) get blown up in the remake for firing at the lock on the gas pump, whereas in the original, I think Ben fired at the lock and... nothing. Still, it's good to know that both the original and remake were done by the same people. The only difference was the director. George directed the original, but the special effects guy directed the remake. Not particularly keen on the remake of The Ring, but the remake of Dawn... is alright. The original is my favourite this time though and it's my favourite out of the original trilogy. I prefer the plot. Day... I think, would come at a close second as it's the goriest and it stars Bub. Watch out of the antagonist in that movie - Captain Rhodes. He's a really nasty piece of work. It's funny, when I first watched these classic horror movies I didn't think much of them. I found them too cheesy. But since my tastes have changed over the years and I have an appreciation for older and foreign movies now, these B-movies don't bother me in the slightest. They're quite enjoyable. Another favourite of mine is the original Evil Dead. Classic horror. Quote:
Or am I missing/misinterpreting something? Quote:

And yeah, I like Drag Me to Hell. I still need to buy that on DVD. Quote:
Also, as embarrassed as I am to admit it, it's a... *choke* Wharfedale model. I'm not very keen on the make, but it was all I could afford. Plus, I'm limited to space in my room, so anything higher than 15" is out of the question. Quote:
Thanks for the offer anyway, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't think my HDTV is all that brilliant anyhow. I think, in the long run, I'll be happier running my 360 through my PC monitor. Not only that, but I think my parents are eyeing my TV up for their caravan. Quote:

I guess the seeker-mastermind/mastermind-seeker combo is starting to become the official Adventure Gamer archtype.

That's because I hardly have any multiplayer games and don't play online either. Not many gaming fans in my vicinity. I hope for one day to have children to join me in my quests Then we can annoy the wife/mom together.
