I always prefered the old school Mario games. New Mario Bros for the DS was enjoyable but was way too easy, took me a few days to complete. Quite disappointed.
I love the Manics, never got around to buying Send Away The Tigers, though. Not sure what to get to reach 100 GameCube games. Any fun platform games? Like Rayman, The Incredibles? Time to update my GC collection.... There are two Spyro games. I've played a Hero's Tail and that's one of the better Spyros around.

I +1 that.
Personally I think Mario Sunshine and The Wind Waker are the superior too. |

Spyro got a medicore rating on Gamespot. I think I'll avoid this.
I started playing Super Monkey Ball 2 but there's a level in World 2 that's too hard to complete, so I gave up playing the game weeks ago. I received Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy this morning, probably play that later. 4 more GC games before I hit 100! Last edited by Reflection; 01-10-2008 at 02:34 PM. |

This reminds me of the effort I went to in my quest to find every N64 game I wanted to play/own. Turned out the magic number was 52.
As for Gamecube, my collection is currently obscured from view by piles of DS and PSP boxes, but from memory: Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes P.N.03 Killer 7 Resident Evil 0, 1, Code, 4 Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike Beach Spikers Beyond Good and Evil Mario Kart: Double Dash Pikmin Metroid Prime Super Mario Sunshine Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker FF: Crystal Chronicles Sonic Adventure 1, 2 Viewtiful Joe Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg TimeSplitters 2 Super Monkey Ball Freedom Fighters Judge Dredd: Dredd Vs. Death Star Wars: Bounty Hunter Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions Only a handful were "full price" purchases, as I purchased my Gamecube at the peak of it's popularity and it didn't take very long after for shops to start discounting GC titles. A fine console, all in all, just a very unfortunate one. The Wavebird is still my favourite "modern" controller. |

Never played but it received mixed reviews due to lack of freedom of some sorts (at least that's the message I got from Amazon reviews). It's supposed to have a unique visual and playing style. It's something of a cult classic so I would check it out whilst you can.

It's a good thing I bought Twilight Princess for the GC brand new. It sells for over £40 USED on eBay now. I'll probably start the game again soon. Haven't played it in over a year.
Enjoying Sphinx at the moment, thought I'd hate the game but it's enjoyable and worth every penny I paid for it (£12 sealed!). |

Mario Galaxy just feels like another Mario 64 (to me anyway).
I might try the Harry Potter games this week, then start LoZ:TTP again from where I last left off. Terramax try and look for Sphinx, pretty good RPG. My latest purchase Pitfall http://uk.gamespot.com/gamecube/acti...result;title;3 If anyone's interested, www.softuk.com, have lots of GameCube titles in stock. Warning though, they'll send a "Player's Choice" release, even though the cover shows the original release. (They sent me Medal of Honor: Rising Sun.) |

Anyone find Super Smash Bros Melee a bit overrated? I don't see what the fuss is about, I played it the other day, probably for the second time in 3 years and could only manage 5 mins.
Sells for over £30 on eBay these days. I have almost 97 GC games now, I'll try and take a pic, if I could fit them all in! ;D |

Not like them!

SSB is good for multiplayer. Not so much for single-player, despite their best efforts.

Agreed. I played it a lot on multiplayer, and got my sis to complete the game on 1player and get all the cheats for me.

Thankfully Brawl has a full 1 player mode, with a HUGE story spanning all the Nintendo character universes. It's going to be insane.
I agree, Melee didn't have much for single players. I'm glad they're fixing that in Brawl.

Hold your horses, there was a fairly interesting 1player mode on Melee- the adventure mode. The only problem was it was too linear, so completing it once with every character became tiresome.
Had more variety come into place, I'd have been happy with it. I don't see how a story is going to make it any better. Think about it, when was the last time Nintendo told a remotely good story in any of their games (and I'll anyone in advance who mentions 'Zelda'). I am hoping Brawl will be great though. Or at least as good. It's the only Wii title I'm looking forward to. |
