tbh i didnt think much of TLJ, but then its not really a setting that appealed to me. i completed it, but couldnt get into the sequel at all .
voice acting grated me. each to his own i guess. |

I haven't played TLJ...and all I've learned about it thus far is that there's a boatload of swearing in it.
Call me crazy...but I enjoyed the story in Beneath A Steel Sky. Maybe because it was my very first adventure game? Dunno...I thought the dialog was amusing...the characters were good...and I identified with Robert Foster (I like his sweater)....kind of a fuddy duddy old game, but there's a definite charm there. I played it without voices, however. |

They're exagerating. TLJ doesn't have a lot of swearing, really, it has one character that overdoes it, but the rest is pretty soft.

Another vote for Planescape: Torment here. Make sure you put a lot of points into charisma, so you'll get the most conversation options. Planescape is as close to a point'n'click adventure game as you can get in the RPG genre.

Doom
Quake Pacman I kid of course. Probably my favorite stories in a game at the time I played it was the entire Legacy of Kain series including Soul Reaver, but I went back and played them again recently from Legacy of Kain on up to Defiance, and it was one of those "darn I was stupid as a kid" moments. Overclocked had a good story for a video game. Personally I like enough charm and character, but not enough to get in the way of the game. After all the very nature of gaming is the interactivity.

Maybe you should try Outcast and Little big adventure (I & II). Both games have a stunning storyline.

Outcast was awesome. My favorite all time game soundtrack. Great game. Too bad the sequel never saw the light of day.

Hell yeah, thats sad. One more classic game to the list of games that should have a sequel...
