Default Help me remember a game!

when I was a little kid, probably ~15 years ago, I used to play this futuristic racing game. I can't remember its title.
It's for IBM compatible PCs. It probably had VGA graphics. It was in full 3D and in first-person perspective. You controlled these hover cars that looked like spaceships. If you ran out of fuel or your ship got damaged, you had to make pit stops.
It felt very realistic because I don't remember winning a single race.

Does anyone know which game I'm thinking of?

Was it Bullfrog's Hi-Octane?

No, it's a much older game, but it's similar in concept. It had almost no textures. All the polygons were flat-shaded. Also, it's very slow-paced, unlike Hi-Octane (and all those today's youth oriented racing "sims").

Yep. I never played the xmas pack though.

Btw, if you aren't 100% it was a PC game, I would say F-Zero fits your description closely, except that its maro-kart mode 7 graphics and not 3D-like. Then again you said 'slow'....

It's none of the above. I finally found the title: Powerdrome. It's ironic because that's the first title I searched for in Mobygames. It's not listed. Just the remake is. I thought I had the title with the new game mixed up in my brain.

It's from 1988 and it's published by EA...

pit stop

racing

I just played it again, and it definitely hasn't aged well. It has the crappiest flight model ever. I can't believe I thought it was a great game.
