Um. I read your quotation from Bethesda and didn't see anything about them implementing a different system, only removing the old one. And in terms of development time there's obviously a pretty big difference between the two.

It states they changed the system, so yes, it is different. Read the bit about cube maps (it's late and I can't recall it totally, but that was the bit).
edit - or rather read the entire posts linked to other than my quotes.

Oh for heavens sake... you've just spent four pages discussing the shadow system used in one game. Will it really kill the game for you? Will it really matter in the long run?

Bah. The game will have too many shadows as it is. I've heard that even if you get infected with vampyrism and become a full-fledged vampyre after three days pass untreated, your character *still* casts a shadow. Everyone knows vampyres don't cast shadows! What kind of bullcrap is this?!? I want my flippin' preorder money back!!!
Cheers, doro- "take my shadow, please" -poso |

Let's forget about shadows, levitation and vampires, and drown in the following:

It's a replica of a Septim, Tamriel's Empirical currency. It's awesome. I want a treasure chest full of it so I can play Morrowind/Oblivion in Real Life.
Now all I need is a cave, and some people randomly shouting N'WAH or DIE FETCHER.

Can use it to buy stuff in real life? That might fetch lots of chocolat truffles. Or martinis.

The sun is one of the few real threats. That and drinking blood from a person whose pulse has stopped beating (ie. dead). Of course, the traditional type is a lot weaker. |

Yes, why garlic? And how would the vampires be able to feed in countries where garlic is used in 99% of the dishes?
