Default King Kong demo out!

http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=7783
http://www.gamershell.com/news/25383.html

The demo includes two levels; one where you play as Jack Driscoll, one where you play as Kong himself. King Kong the game is going to be released a month from now in November. As some of you may already now, King Kong the game is based on Peter Jackson's upcoming King Kong movie, and the game is directed by Michel Ancel, the man behind Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil.

Holy J, I've been waiting to try out this game for a long time now.

Who knows? Maybe the game won't be nearly as bad as the movie is going to be.

I got killed by a T-Rex after about 10 seconds. Mind you, I did try to run through it.

It looks remarkably nice for a console-orientated game, the controls are fairly easy to get to grips with and the music and sound is nice.

Mind you, I only played for about a minute. More later, after I've done some uni stuff.

Doesn't work for me. Black screen, then music, then tells me the sound card didn't intialise. After playing the music. Go figure.

Very nice, albeit short demo, but still enough for a first taste. I liked it, I liked it a lot. The gameplay is just as promised, very different when playing with Jack and when playing with Kong. Jack is so helpless little human being.

On the other hand, Kong sure is a powerhouse. I took a tree trunk with me and started smashing those little dinosaurs.

It really looks like a game that I'll be buying as soon as it's released.

There was this one problem when I was configuring the settings, I couldn't choose a bigger resolution than 800x600 because for some reason the refresh rate choice was always 150hz and I couldn't change that. If I chose for example 1024x768, I got an error message saying that "resolution not available at the selected refresh rate."

Weird. I ran the thing in 1440x900 with a 60hz refresh rate. It looked swell .

My install must've screwed up somewhere, as I reloaded my drivers. I'll try again later.

Just watched a couple of gameplay movies. Looks like a lot of fun. Too bad I can't play it on my old-ass PC, but there's always my Xbox.

Can someone please post the PC system reqs? Thanks.

Ooh... got it working. First install was screwed up.

Nice graphics, not amazing, but very kinetic and do the job remarkably. The FPS section was really nicely done and refreshing to play. Makes me want to see the film, that's for sure - the t-rex's are really quite scary.

My first thought when I saw the T-Rex was that this was what Trespasser should have been like .

Wow I am so impressed. The game looks simply gorgeous, without being a machine hog (like FEAR), and it is a lot of fun. Playing like Jack felt so helpless and desperate, compared the empowering feeling of being Kong.

I just hope the game has enough diversity to remain interesting through out.

What's the recommended specs?

I should be able run this demo on my rig with the minimum.

Now that is excellent! Finally, a game whose system requirements aren't close to my 2.4 ghz computer. I have taken a look at the gameplay videos on Gamespot, and Kong himself looks incredibly strong and amazing. I'm definitely looking forward to playing this, considering that the movie itself is on my list of movies to see this fall, and Christmas.

The game runs, but the camera is screwed up. The view keeps rotating to the right, rendering the game basically unplayable. The only way to fix it seems to be setting mouse sensitivity to nill, which in turn leaves you paralyzed from the neck up. Not very useful.

Anyone else getting this?

I had the same problem to. Know what it was? The slider on the gamepad that was plugged in to my computer was all the way to one side, causing the rotation, one I set it to the center (or unplugged it) the spinning stopped.

Oh yeah, and let me just say...I liked the game! But the two button fighting thing sucked!
