Simon 3D
Hey someone review this. NOW!
I like it when it's bashed for it's inexcusable mistakes. Although I did have a dreadful, yet fun time playing it. No joke. |

I think it would be more productive and useful to review games that everybody doesn't already know suck balls.

I'm playing it right now. Somebody shoot me.
I HAD to play it, though, since #2 left the story hanging... and to see if reports of its supreme cruddiness were true. They weren't. They were understated. OK, to be fair, the game has its positives. But it's a case of one step forward, two steps back... mainly because the step forward invariably plants Simon's kisser into a wall, of course. |

I'd rather finish all the bad DreamCatcher games than Simon 3D

I could never get anyone to send us a review copy, and even if I had been able to get one, pretty much the entire review staff threatened to quit if I assigned Simon 3D to them.
And really, what's the point. If we pile on, we're just adding our name to the massive list of haters and making life even worse for the developers. If we give it a marginally good review and find the positives, we'll be laughed off the Internet. So it's lose-lose. Best to close the book on that one, I think. - Evan

Stabbity stabbity slice slice (sound of AGA massacring people). Simon 3D is not a poor game, I'd give it at least 3 stars. The only major flaw is the graphics and interface. The story, characters and puzzles are as good as the other two Simon games.

Non mini games were terrible. Most of them suffered from 3d misuse. Some where nice. For example in Luna park.
Humor was all right for Simon games. Sometime really good. There were some really good jokes when u talk 2 Callisto while hanging. Only second chapter featured many running around. If thats where you stopped- u missed all the game. Cliched puzzle structure? whats that?

Hmmm... Not really sure what I meant myself there anymore..... Let's just say that I wasn't particularly impressed by the puzzles, either.

I encompassed the running around in the interface thing (in my own mind, at least ). Can't say I found the puzzles especially clichéd...

Well, I made it through the end.
The humour is definitely on par with the other games in the series, and possibly even ahead (maybe I'm just a sucker for endless Star Wars jokes). I also agree that the story and characters (most of whom are carryovers, mind you) are equally enjoyable here. But the freakin' running around spreads the story so THIN that it loses its impact. Personally, I found many of the puzzles to be idiotic inventory combine/trial-and-error junk. While that's bearable in itself, of course it required the same extraordinary amount of to'ing and fro'ing to acquire everything - most of which you'd never guess you needed. Typical non-linear world that screeches to a halt at linear puzzle bottlenecks. Ugh. I liked the graphics, actually. Sure, there are more square edges than in my Lego set, but they were colourful and vibrant. And I found the mini games kinda fun. Not a complete loss, but a failed experiment, for sure. |
