Default An all new Futurama movie coming!

IGN reports from the Comic Con 2005 at San Diego that a new Futurama Direct-to-Video movie has been greenlit by Fox. ALSO there is an option for a second movie!!!

As I read this post, the sun began to shine brighter, the birds began to sing louder, my cats started purring, and my dark roast Sumatra seemed to taste even better than ever.

I just found out that that was a hoax. IGN just posted a correction citing an "unreliable source".

Just went to their site, and see no correction. They are still highlighting it.

I'd be wary... that article is pretty factually inaccurate. Family Guy direct to DVD movie sparked the series return? The only thing even remotely movielike to come out is coming out soon, and even that's more of a 3-4 episode serial stitched together than an actual movie. It was sales of the season DVDs that got it back on-air.

Yep. Known about this for a while. Didn't think it would be confirmed though. Woo.

So you're saying that Billy West is an unreliable source?

Not to mention an arsehole who didn't credit John Kricfalusi for creating the voice of Ren on a chat show.

Weren't these 3-4 episodes originally supposed to be a movie though, and then Fox just went ahead and said "Gee, I guess you guys might as well have an entire season"? This is what I heard from some grapevine.

Well "Kiss my shiny metal ass"

I hope it's true as Futurama was great, better than some of the Simpsons lately.

Just a random thought.

Is "Direct-to-Video" still a valid term or is outdated.

Should it be "Direct-to-DVD"
