I saw Ben in concert when Rockin' the Suburbs came out. I was in the front row!!

That's awesome--was he good? Can he sing? I actually put this on my MP3 player after not listening to the album in a year or so and started lmao walking down the street listening to Rockin' the Suburbs. It was kinda embarrassing!

He is awesome live! When he sang "Still Fighting It", I cried, because it reminds me of my relationship with my father He sounds great too, and you can hear it for yourself on the "Ben Folds Live" album. I wish the live version of "Still Fighting It" had made it on to the album :|

To my surprise
And my delight
I saw a sunrise
I saw a sunlight.

I am nothing
In the dark
And the clouds burst
To show the daylight

Oooh and the sun will shine
Yeah on this heart of mine
Ooooh and I realise
Who cannot live without
Ooooh come apart without

On a hilltop
On a sky-rise
Like a firstborn
Child

And at full tilt
And in full flight
Defeat darkness
Breaking daylight

Oooh and the sun will shine
Yeah on this heart of mine
Ooooh and I realise
Who cannot live without
Ooooh and come apart without
Daylight

Three cheers to Ben Folds... I haven't listened to this album for ages.

He's got a new album coming out soon, doesn't he?

Merry Christmas to you, too, Clay!!!

The jazz vibe around this place got me to put on Oscar Peterson, Night Train.

Right now I am listening to my favorite Japanese band, Garnet Crow. They are an amazing fusion of Jazz and Pop, with the lead female vocalist singing in a beautiful deep and husky voice. I am excited, their new album came out today in Japan, and I should get my package from Japan by Sunday

Some translated lyrics for my favorite song by Garnet Crow, "Flying"

Flying, gone,
As if in a dream;
the plummeting is within you.
Don't be afraid, should I be wounded,
I'll surely be embracing this dear kindness.

Flying, fall down,
A plummet while flapping my wings,
At your side.
When a tomorrow where I have nothing arrives,
I'll hold to my heart the miracle of meeting you,
And be lulled to sleep.

I've been listening to a lot of Gomez lately. If you haven't heard of them, I recommend you check them out. They've got some good stuff.

Can anyone recommend something along the lines of Hank Williams Sr. Ernest Tubb is pretty good but he doesn't have the gospel ones that Williams did. "I saw the Light" has to be the greatest song of the 20th century, Williams and Tubb's voice are both very similar and the best out there. If anyone could recommend a similar artist, it would be great.
