Just wanted to know what kind of music you guys listen to?
For me it's hip-hop, rap and some of the oldschool rap music.

Heavy metal and oldschool rock. But if you mean NOW, then I'm torturing my ears with dog barks from outside my window.

Did I forget the blues?

These days I'm forced to listen to the brass band that often performs near the place where I live. Too bad they play in the middle of the ****ing night.

Otherwise... I'm listening to Farmers Market, jazz/balkan/other band. Brilliant, hilarious stuff performed by astounding musicians.

Tommy Edwards
Massive Attack
China Crisis
Rufus & Chaka Khan
Roxy Music
Macy Gray

Currently: Danny Howells, Luna, Francoise Hardy, Coldplay, Patricia Kaas, The Curves Of Danger (ost)....

I've been on a binge of obscure music lately. Whole lotta Rasputina (Cello rock), Dresden Dolls (Punk Cabaret rock), Opeth (Swedish death metal meets Eric Clapton), and Mindless Self Indulgence (Described by the band as "Industrial Jungle Pussy Punk"). Although I've also been listening to Slipknot's latest (which Beyond Delphine mentioned) quite a bit. This is kinda surprising to me, as I have loathed everything else that Slipknot has ever released. But they're finally starting to add some melody and complexity to their songs, which I can get behind. The industrial vibe they've picked up is pretty nifty as well.

- van morrison - astral weeks...again
- all '80s one-hit wonders, esp. Toto...again
- anything that has loud guitars, long-haired band members who snorted their brains out long ago, and semi-sensible lyrics given the drug addiction...again

Good shit.

Although they broke up long ago, I'm quite stuck on Gravity Kills these days. Must be that they don't ask for much attention and still make a lot of noise. Also I'm trying to like Engine Down's and Isis' last albums.

But I confess I still come back to Marillion and Morrissey.

And... erm... Frou Frou

I listen to all forms of rock but my passion is punk. I like all punk. My production and record label specializes in Emo punk. I am the southern california rep for the agency group which run basically every major punk and rock band in the business. I used to personally handle large scale rock bands like Green Day, Jimmy Eat World and Thrice. Now I specialize in the up and coming punk bands like Finch, New Found Glory etc. I basically just put together all of the southern california tour stops and advertise the shows.

My personal record label has produced talent like Edesin, letter Kills and The Starting Line. These bands are now on major record labels like Geffen, Drive Thru and Victory. You may see my label Mimik credited on the albums since they all 1/10 mine. We have engaged in a third party buyout. I havent had a roster on my label for a year and hopefully those three bands will continue to sell so I dont ever need another roster. Its a pain in the butt to put your own money on the line.

Uf, where do I start:
used to listen tio hip-hop, rap some time ago, now I usually do when I get nostalgic: Rawkus fam (Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Company Flow), underground stuff I have at home, some Mobb Deep, Krs-1, Rakim, Gangstarr and the other old-schoolers, Blackalicious, and my fav group: Jurassic 5.
Italo-pop :Jovanotti, Eros...
Also, I like rock (Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, RHCCP, Frusciante, Beck, Deep Purple, Rolling Stones, SOAD, Travis, Coldplay, FLC, RATM, QOTSA...) (I understand it's quite different styles, but I call it all rock)
Irish folk music (I'm a St. Patrick's day bitch! cause my birthday is the same date)
Electro (older stuff like Kraftwerk, some Prodigy when I feel like it, Massive attack)
Spice Girls! woo-hoo! (I have my moments of temporary insanity)

And #1 music I listen to now: old r'n'b/funk (70's-80's): Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Bobby Womack, Earth, Wind & Fire, Al Green, Barry White, George Benson, Kool & the Gang, Commodores... my music all the way!

BAsically, I can listen to almost anything. If the song is good (to me) I won't have prejudice about the preformers nor the music style...

I listen to almost everything, with some exceptions.

Right now I'm remembering the great 80's by listening to Europe - Rock The Night (The Very Best of Europe). Wickedly good as always.

A name like The Very Best of Europe doesn't make any sense.

What no body's listening to the lost Wagner opera?

I guess I'm the lone opera lover of this thread. I've been on a Cecilia Bartoli binge. I'm listening right now to the Vivaldi Album. The Salieri Album is next, which I'm eagerly anticipating. Amadeus is one of my favorite movies of all time but Salieri got such a underserved harsh treatment in the movie. I'm really excited about finally getting a chance to hear some of his music .
