Reason behind your avatar?

I don't know how many of you feel this way, but I go (or went) for a long time contemplating which avatar to use for boards before I decided upon this one. As is implied, the avatar means a lot to me (and I mean a lot to the avatar)

My personal reason for chosing this avatar that I have is because I have a great admiration for Robin Hood. I may not have read every Robin Hood book or interpretation out there, but from what I've read, he was a very noble and just man. The epitome of a hero. In as such, there are some aspects in life, in which, I'd like to be like him, and hope that I already am. Hence, I ask him to grace the space of my avatar.

There are lots of Robin Hood pictures out there, but I just think Kevin Costner with a fiery arrow looks the best

So, what's your reason for chosing your avatar, or are you one of those lesser mortals who puts no thought into it?

My av is my favourite character from the current game I'm playing. So right now I'm playing Mafia. Paulie's cool.

Next one up will probably be Mr. payne....

My av choice is prey to serendipity alone. Well, with the exception of Cath. I haven't had any muse inspire me with avatar ideas recently, so I just picked him 'cause he's cool, and I needed an av. If I ever change it, you can trust it'll be completely on impulse.

I found a clipart at Microsoft's Clipart Gallery, and modified it. It's been my avatar ever since...

I chose mine because I like Star Trek, and the Doc is my favourite character from Star Trek: Voyager. I use another Doc avatar on the TrekBBS where I read and post on daily.
