Saxton land
Grule's antique shop is actually on the Main street of Looe, where we stayed the first three nights.
My friends thought I was nuts when we reached it, I just couldn't stop laughing at the very thought of standing next to Gruel's.

We walked along the coast from Looe to Saxton, sorry Polperro. It was about 4.5 miles and breathtakingly (is that a word?) beautiful!
Here's the small lighthouse.

Arriving in Polperro.

This is Celtic corner.

Both Mr J and I really would like to go back one day. *sighs dreamingly*

OMG!!! *melts into a puddle*

I think it's so cool that you can actually go and stand at places from the game. So amazing, Jelena!!

Well, Photobucket is now uploading 111 pictures from Rome. That's a lot, though I have to remind you that's less than a quarter of what I took These are pretty mainly and most of the best pictures and such that I think give a nice overview of where we were.

The place is of course such that anywhere you go you have something to photograph and something interesting too look at, so there's not any chance that I could've taken a picture of all the great things I saw. And in many cases the best things were actually such that it wouldn't look like much in a picture.

Anyways, I'll give a link to all the pictures and I'll post some most interesting here with a few commentaries along the way. Once they're uploaded, that is. I also uploaded more than I'd thought, so unfortunately they're not in their own folder, but I'm sure we can manage

Also, in case anyone's going to Rome, we got a nice tip from a guide on completely avoiding the lines in the Colosseum (and Forum Romanum too) - you can buy the ticket at this hill that's adjacent to the Forum, and the ticket gives you access also to Colosseum and Forum. Saved a lot of time.

(Edit): Don't expect to see any of us though

(Edit2): Well, it's stuck on 97%... It's still stuck. One pic failed, and I wonder if that screwed the whole thing up. It's not done anyrhing in a while

(Edit3): It seems they uploaded despite the thing freezing at 97 %. Of course, now I have to go somewhere else and don't have enough time to do the proper tour that I was going to, but here's a couple preliminary ones and I'll come back later with the rest:

Beautiful pics. I like the one with the pillars and the bikes best.

These bugs are pretty rare. I found one in my grapevine this afternoon. They are called Meikever in Dutch: May beetle.

Well, more from Rome. First off, here's the link. It also includes all the older pictures I've shown here but I'm too lazy to change it.
As a slideshow:
http://s627.photobucket.com/albums/t.../AG%20resized/
As a regular view:
http://s627.photobucket.com/albums/t.../AG%20resized/
They're in reverse chronological order, the first ones are on page 5 I think.

Anyways, I'll post some more that I think are noteworthy here, in addition to the earlier ones. If you don't mind. Now, the place was packed as you can see from certain pictures so that hurts some pics a little but you just have to live with it while in Rome, it's always like that. Well, there are times of day when there aren't so many people but you can't be everywhere at once I won't spam with pictures but rather with links. Otherwise it'll be waaay to packed.

Alright, the very first place we visited was the Spanish Steps, very close-by to our hotel.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma004.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma001.jpg

They had, in several parks (always on hills), these marble heads (or busts, rather) of scientists and other important figures, like here:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma026.jpg

And as it turns out, Paolo Mercuri likes his beer and in fact some of his best ideas blossom from it

They had some really nice inner cortyards too
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma103.jpg

Random pillars:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma127.jpg
Really, literally everywhere you have these fantastic little treasures that elsewhere would be considered marvels but in Rome are commonplace, and while gorgeous, not so different from all the other marvels behind the corner.

Here's Pantheon, I'm always fascinated by the hole in the roof. It really is a hole, not a window.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma129.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma137.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma140.jpg
The elephant I showed earlier is right behind it:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma155.jpg

We ate one night looking at this church:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma147.jpg

This is the even-too-pompous-for-Romans monument:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma165.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma179.jpg
I like these two pics I also took there:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma175.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma176.jpg
This is also from there:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma186.jpg

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma207.jpg

And then (right behind that big white thing) you have the Forum Romanum, Colosseum, the whole area and a billion pictures. I'll start with just a couple from Colosseum, this is already way too heavy
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma286.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma284.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma341.jpg

There are also pics from the inside in the gallery.

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma283.jpg

And the Forum:

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma195.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma224.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma344.jpg

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma242.jpg

Much like the cortyards, you often find (the most?) intriguing and exquisite places by looking to places a bit off the main route. This was also a bit on the side at the Forum, this beautiful (though dark and locked-away, you can't see the metal gate blocking the site) grotto

It was actually a lot darker, so for a change digital cameras' picture properties are a blessing

This is going way too long... Well, here's that fountain in the piazza, both of which name I forget But it was in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons (and the movie too) I think
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma372.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma371.jpg

Umm... I'll just hurry to a couple from the Vatican and leave the rest to your own viewing pleasure if you're interested.

Castel Sant'Angelo (not quite Vatican though):
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma376.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma380.jpg

Il Vaticano:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma382.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma385.jpg
The line was 3/4 around that square. Unfortunately no way (aside from guided tours) to skip the line there. so we didn't actually go to the main hall though there was a side-show about the previous Pope and it went rather close-by
http://s627.photobucket.com/albums/t...t=Rooma395.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma391.jpg

And finally, here's Fontana Di Trevi, full of people when we were there
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma439.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma441.jpg

And to end this, the ceiling of a commercial building:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/Rooma480.jpg

Alright, whew! I think I'll stop now. No one's interested anymore anyways.

Also, sorry No one likes the endless, "look where we were" slideshow, but you have to do it sometimes. Rome really was quite exhilarating (or however that's spelled ) There's still a lot more in the gallery, if you care to take a peek.

Oh and in that one picture with the church and all the festive people, there was a wedding. Didn't have the balls to go and take a picture of the couple though

(Edit): Oh, and I almost forgot this one. I somehow get a really strong feeling from this one. It kinda represents the feeling of the town, and makes me sorta feel like I'm there again

Do you mean my zoom-lens (300 mm) or my macro-lens (105 mm)? Or both

Well, apparently I misevaluated the other lens I had. It is actually 300 mm, though it's not a very expensive one so the quality is not so magnificent.

But I wouldn't mind either one

The Sigma 105 mm macro lens is a gem. Look it up on the web if you want to know more about it. The only problem is that it doesn't have a stabilizer, but even with a stabilizer, if you take pictures at only a few cm distance you need a flash anyway.

My parents and me roamed around the neighbourhood a bit and we found this collapsed farmhouse:
