Well, since nobody's posting anything (yes I'm impatient) I'll just post a pic. Might be a bit easy though.. Have to go find some more unknown animals..
What a cute Spoiler:please don't read spoiler unless you have no idea what the picture is of..

Obviously, this is a snake. But what kind? Is it poisonous or not? Is it a friend or a foe?
Answer quickly...it might bite!

That's a Scarlet Kingsnake. It's colors are the same as a Coral Snake, but they're in a different sequence. There's a rhyme about the difference- "Red on yellow Kill a fellow Red on black Friend to Jack" (or "Venom lack", depending on the source) Kingsnakes as a group are non-venomous, and in the wild they prey on poisonous snakes, so they are actually a good snake to have around.

Heh, I don't want to boast, but I knew that Capybaras and Maras are all rodent since I was in primary school. That's because I used to be in the Frankfurt Zoo Youth Club, where we learned all kinds of things along those lines (and occasionally we got to help one of the Animal caretakers. I got to help feed the birds of prey...I couldn't bring myself to kill all those baby chickens by hitting them against a the stone stair, though. And one time I helped feed the baboons and other monkeys. It was fun hiding the food in boxes and all [and then see the baboons choose the easy way by ripping the box open ]).
The Capybaras are just around the corner from the Maras in the Zoo Frankfurt. I recently learned that Hyena are more closely related to Cats than to Dogs. And even more closely to Meerkats and Mongooses (that's one vicious jaw that Meerkat has, isn't it? ). I hope you don't mind if I post an animal to guess. You even get two pictures! Guess away. -

Where I live we only have two kinds of snakes. One of them has a poison, but it´s certainly not life threating. That makes venomous snakes really interesting for the kids in school. (For the same reason they´re really intersested in vulcanos and earthquakes.) |

(In the first photo, you can see an interesting trait they share with Camels. When they walk, they move both legs on one side at a time. Most mammals move opposite legs, e.g. left front and right rear, then right front and left rear.)

Yes, that's an actual photo of a real living animal. No, it's not a dinosaur.

Is it a pangolin? Looks kinda like an armadillo, but isn't related.
Anyone know what this is?

Is it a Jaguarundi? I´ve searched a predator gallery on the internet and that was the closest. Too bad the picture doesn´t show its tail. |

No, not a jaguarundi, he has a very long tail, and weird front paws with retractable claws, and though he looks like a cat or a dog, he's neither.
