Yeah. Table Syrup, Pancake Syrup, etc. are all names for what's basically flavored corn syrup.

Thanks, never really thought of that, then again I'm not that good in the kitchen Going to try that the next time I make pancakes.

You've never heard of Aunt Jemima?

And until they gave her a makeover, it was (and maybe still is) a horrible African-American stereotype.

If it'll go with the flavor of what's in the pancakes, you can use a sweet wine instead of water/sugar. For pancakes, though, I think plain sugar water would be best.

I thought tabacco meant there was fake maple syrup. Table syrup isn't maple flavoured as far as I know. Syrup is just sugar and water.

When did Aunt Jemima stop looking like a character from Song of the South? I don't buy those products so I was unaware of her makeover until now!

It happened quite a few years ago (I can't remember exactly). There had been a lot of complaints about her Song of the South look.

Actually, there is fake maple syrup. Some pancake syrups are in fact maple flavored

I still haven't forgiven Kelloggs for renaming "Coco Pops" into "Choco Krispies" for no apparent reason...

...to add to this frustration, I discovered that they are still called "Coco Pops" in France!

That's my childhood memories they are messing with there! What if I am talking to my little cousin and she doesn't know what "Coco Pops" are, because they are called "Choco Krispies" these days? Evil!

That's what's known as a marketing gimmick. They did it so that people would complain and they could then hold an internet-based poll to ask whether it should be changed back. As a result, it changed back to Coco Pops in the UK a few years ago.

And I'm grateful, because "Because we'd rather have a bowl of Choco Krispies!" really didn't fit the tune they've used for years .

They did that over here too, but there was public outcry, and we got our Coco Pops back. Go people power!
Kellogs have some stupid marketing people.

EDIT: I got beaten by Lacey, damn he's fast

Well, I didn't use the Internet back then. It was several years ago, I believe when I was about 10 years old. 12 years at most. That's 9-7 years ago.

I just keep on calling them Coco Pops, and my sisters and everyone my age knows what I mean by that. Hah!

It makes more sense too. After all, the monkey is called Coco, and not Choco.
