Pancakes!

So it's that time of year again. What do you like on your pancakes? Or maybe you have crêpes if you're on the Continent?

I had a chocolate one, and a rapsberry jam one, yummy! :9~

Dasilva 02-28-2006 10:36 AM

People still actually celebrate this day?

Sage 02-28-2006 10:36 AM

Um...no pancakes for me, thanks. :r
I will have a waffle, though. :)

Dasilva 02-28-2006 10:38 AM

Or a flapjack (the mini pancake kind) not this strange honey wheaty stuff.

Stoofa 02-28-2006 11:04 AM

I'm going to make pancakes for supper tonight. I usually just make plain buttermilk pancakes and top them with maple syrup or raspberry jam.

RLacey 02-28-2006 11:06 AM

I hate maple syrup, so it's chocolate or cream for me. Or Jam. Or lemon juice. I have no idea if I'm even going to have pancakes today, mind you.

jjacob 02-28-2006 11:12 AM

I like to eat pancakes once a month or every two months orso, but not really frequently as I'm not that fond of it - I like cheese pancakes or plain syrup or powder sugar ones, and ice cream if I'm feeling adventurous :P Never tried chocolate though. I hate American pancakes.

RLacey 02-28-2006 11:14 AM

I prefer savoury crêpes to pancakes, to be honest. Nothing beats an egg, ham and cheese crêpe...

Seconded, perhaps without the ham, which I seriously dislike ;)

Karmillo 02-28-2006 11:27 AM

I dont know if ill have some tonight, but I want some :frown:

Dasilva 02-28-2006 11:30 AM

Cheesecake beats pancake. ;)

seebaruk 02-28-2006 11:48 AM

Didn't even know it was Pancake Day til someone told me this afternoon. I prefer chips and battered sausage, mmm!

That'd make an interesting combination :)

I love pancakes and get a hankering for them now and again. Some maple syrup will do for me. :)

tabacco 02-28-2006 12:17 PM

it's all about the maple syrup. REAL maple syrup, though, none of this "table syrup" crap.

Jazhara7 02-28-2006 12:21 PM

I always eat pancakes (apparently the type we have in Germany is called British pancake. The German Pancake is an american thing, it seems - Talk about cultural confusion, eh? :P ) with Apple Sauce and sugar sprinkled over it, then rolled to a roll (Well, duh.) and eaten.

While in France, we had a Crêpe every day for lunch. The first week I ate it with Nutella like I alsways used to, until I couldn't see any more Nutella without being disgusted. After that, I ate Crêpe with Butter and sugar. I think I'll eat that last one in the future too, when we buy Crêpes.

Snob. :P

I actually like both kinds :D

Oh and I forgot raisins, they're very tasty if you manage to get the into the pancake properly (for some reason it's not very tasty when done wrong, and it's not easy), then put a little powder sugar on top and it's lovely.

tabacco 02-28-2006 12:25 PM

strawberries are good on crepes too :)

(too much effort to type 'ê')

Simmer raisins in a little sugar water to soften them up, and they're a billion times better in things. (They're better as is when eaten by themselves, though)

(The sugar isn't really needed, but it certainly doesn't hurt ;))
