Default "You're like a brother to me."

What do you do when a person you're in love with tells you that? In your experience, is it a completely lost cause by that point? Sure, "but that's not a lost cause, that's so beautiful, you should be honored etc etc". I understand that and I agree, but that's just not it, is it? I also know that, like so many things, it greatly depends on the circumstances, but I'd just like to hear your general opinion.

And if anyone has a similar experience to share, please do.

Chicks usually use that line when they know you're digging them and they want you to back off a bit.

Tell her you have too many female friends as it is, and one more is spreading yourself too thin. She needs to accept the promotion or look to someone else to complain about how guys are such jerks to her.

Chill Cobra, you're a wicked dude. Forget that skank and find another. It's not as if there's a short supply of hot Croatian ass over there.

I do have a lot of female friends too, but this person was a guy.

Every single guy I've told I have feelings for him has told me that he "doesn't like me that way" or "I think of you like a sister", so I have lots of similar experiences.

As to how to make someone who says that to you eventually decide they like you after all... no clue, I'm afraid.

Peace & Luv, Liz

What you could do is try to ignore her for a while. Get some distance. After some time she might realize that her feelings for you are different from what she thought they were. (or not, but at least you then know for sure). She starts missing you, etc...

I believe that spending too much time together in the beginning of a relationship could kill that special feeling of being in love. It's starting to fade away, being together is getting very normal, and before you know it you're just friends. But that's taken from my humble experience, though. Might be a whole different situation for you.

Ah the variation of the "Can't we just be friends" speech.

I think it's probably over.

Mind you if you pair have been making out etc and then she says that....then her family is plain weird.

You should flex your muscles more! even better, try this:
Get a shirt thats 2 sizes too small so when you flex your muscles the shirt rips to shreds, It looks more impressive
She'll be swooning all over you!

Does she know you feel more than just friendship for her? If she doesn't, take a chance and tell her. It may plant a seed.

She's just not that into you. But it's a big sea. Don't worry about it.

Ditto that. My advice? Forget it, move on and look for someone else - a girl who actually and sincerely appreciates you. Life is too short to dwell on one girl.

I really never understood the concept of picking up a girl/guy just to have sex that night or just to have a one time date. I mean word of mouth from friends that this guy likes you seems a far less obvious/whorish way of telling someone you like them, then again directness can be good. And if you like whores... I really dont know what Im talking about.

You're all over the place there, Dr. Strangelove.
