Oh, and I think I really should get the TV version of Disney's "Aladdin" on DVD. I really loved that show. Also, it had Mozenrath (Often called by fans "Mozy" ) as a villain. Not only is he rather dashing and young, but he's a villain that is actually competent. He's not one of the laughing stock, but also not totally bereft of humour. The gauntlet he wears is magical, and gives him great magical powers, but it also resulted in his right hand being skeletal beneath it (I am not sure, but it is possible that he might not be able to move the hand/arm if the glove is gone. He wears it most of the time, but there are some times he is forcibly separated from it.) He would surely have already taken over the world, if it wouldn't be for the fact that he is on his own (together with his flying-eel-thing companion Xerxes...oh, and his horde of Sand Zombies! But be serious, not even Sand Zombies are a lot smarter than your average Zombie. A bit faster maybe...) and Aladdin has Genie, Jasmine, Abu, some other people, at one time other Genies, etc. But he's basically much more powerful than Aladdin, or the Genie (and in fact, possibly more powerful than both together), which is quite remarkable if you remember that Mozenrath is about the same age as Aladdin.

And apart from 'Mozy', that show had a great amount of great villains (And sometimes it had Flying-Pigs-that-play-Polo-with-the-Stars().

...isn't it just screaming out at you "EVIL!"?

The "Real" Ghostbusters are only "Real" because they came after "The Ghostbusters" (which were inspired by a TV childrens show of that name, but the cartoon was *coincidentally* made right after the "The Ghostbuster" movies were in cinemas *cough*), and they needed to put in the "Real" to differentiate it from the real real Ghostbusters.

I kind of doubt Skeletor would call him a jerk if he knew who He-Man's alter ego was...

...I imagine it to be quite hard to act like a jerk if you are wearing spandex shirts, pink vest, lilac leggings, and VIOLET FUR UNDERWEAR ON TOP OF YOUR PANTS (with matching boots too...) - While in superheroes (like Superman) this proves the theory that they are mad, in Prince Adam it just suggests that his wardrobe is no longer chosen by Queen Marlena (aka: His mother).

He not only looks cool, he *is* cool! I think the "Aladdin" serial was one of the better TV adaptations of Disney movies. It ran for a long time too, and it was of great quality in both writing and art. I think the whole "Aladdin" thing is great. Even the two sequels released on DVD and Video are said to be excellent, which is something you can't say of ever straight-to-video sequel. I actually saw part of "Aladdin and the King of the Thieves", and I have to say it looked great (One day I am really going to buy all three movies on DVD).

Sadly I just found that the TV series is not available on DVD...

I remember the television series being fun the couple of times I cought it. I've never seen the second film, but have seen most of the third. It's alright (and they persuaded Robin Williams back to voice the genie after changing for the second film!), but the art quality is noticably poorer, and the plot a little silly.

It's the kind of thing they often show here at Christmas. And it wouldn't surprise me if it's on again sometime this year...

I'm pretty sure that it didn't. IMDB mentions it being straight-to-video.

Since I mentioned it on the other (undying) thread, The Sooty Show:

Sweep ruled!

Other childhood favourites that have been mentioned recently are Rainbow, Bagpuss, Fingermouse, and Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds (thanks for reminding me, seebaruk ):

And there was also a show called "Let's Pretend" or something like that. I remember being hooked on that when I was a kid.

I could go on for quite some time listing kid's shows I loved... I grew up with 80s cartoons and loved almost all of them. But I'll limit myself.

First off, all the cool PBS stuff.

I was a big fan of the math show Square One Television, especially the MathNet segments. ("This story is a fib, but it's short. The names are made up but the problems are real...) Ghostwriter and 3-2-1 Contact were a lot of fun, too.

But my main love was Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, which was the coolest game show ever, IMHO.

Second, all the cool old Nick stuff. Double Dare, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Salute Your Shorts, Roundhouse, You Can't Do That on Television...

And of course, the cartoons... Voltron, GI Joe, Teddy Ruxpin, Rainbow Brite, JEM, all the Disney stuff (Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Gummi Bears)...

And what about stuff like Pinwheel, Picture Pages, Calliope?

(sigh) They just don't make kids shows like they used to..

Peace & Luv, Liz

"I like the idea of Oompa Loompa Elementals."

Man, that's just creepy. I can just imagine Sooty, Sweep and Matthew Corbett lining up for the paternity test.
