No "Gentleman Itinerant Joseph" began in good old England. You Americans just mucked it up when you remade it (like you do with all fine English dramas)

Brideshead Revisted
Gruff American former G.I. Malcolm Foggerahadge, dishonourably discharged from the military, returns to Brideshead to deal with some... unfinished business.

Don't be silly. Everyone knows that you need British guys to play baddies.

Mind you, if we both played baddies (I could do "Evil/Mad Scientist") then we'd appeal to the Beards are Bad demographic.

We're still discussing some ideas for the alien creatures that Professor Why is up against in his regional time-travelling exploits.

One is the Branston Jar Monster -- here are some transcribed notes from the production team.

Quote:
-- Corporate Logo = product placement = budget and drinks money.
-- Shoots out radioactive pickles.
-- Talks in a deep monotone drawl (one of the runners can do the voice, to save the moolah).
Also, THE INVISIBLE CHIMP

Quote:
-- Invisibility saves money.
-- Royalty-free primate sound samples from the internet save money.
-- Throws his radioactive faeces.
