Those are lovely. As much as I loathe the stuff in large accumulations, I have to admit that individual snowflakes are an amazing sight. Who ever said physics isn't beautiful?

I must admit that that site also reminds me of another site I saw once... Mutant Snowflakes.

Yeah, I'm not leaving anymore without something to eat and drink, that's for sure. It's crazy, though, as a trip to work normally takes only half an hour! It's only 23 kilometers!

He could say 'Icelander in Denmark.' I think that's where he is.

Damn! It felt good having an icelander on the forum... so exotic.

(unless there are others that I'm not aware of?)

Well, after a couple blissful clear weeks, it snowed again.

Half the office didn't show up, so I had to cover other people's jobs, and all the bits I couldn't cover are going to be backed up until Monday (which means that when everyone gets finished I'm going to have a giant pile of work to process).

I had to wade through knee-deep snow to and from the bus stop both trips (which is harder than it sounds, I thought my lungs were going to explode...) Furthermore I had to stand outside in the cold for 40 minutes waiting for a bus that's supposed to run every 20 minutes. (On the ride home, that is... had to spend 20 minutes out in the cold during the morning...)

And the roommate and I were supposed to go grocery shopping tonight, but no idea when we're supposed to do that now.

Snow is foul, loathesome, evil, irritating white crap that needs to be shipped to Antarctica and left there.

snow

I hear ya, Jeysie! There are only 10 people in my office, I and came in only because I had to interview a couple of people. I'm so dreading the drive home (at least it's finally stopped snowing over here).

Me thinks our Trepsie hasn't had to do a lot of driving in snow then.

The storm that hit MA as reported by Natalia and Jeysie also dumped a lot of snow in NJ. We had anywhere between 3 to 11 inches of snow on the ground. I'm near the Jersey shore which is in the southern part of the state so only got about 4 inches of snow but some northern part of the state got almost a foot of snow. Snow's fun and beautiful and all until you have to drive. The traffic report this morning was full of cars that spun out and stuck and many, many accidents. Snow can be quite very dangerous and even deadly. I'm dreading the return of Winter and snow.

Ackk!! I always drive super slow during these snowy days, and so do most people, but there are always those few that seem to think their cars can go at their regular speed (usually way above the speed limit) that make it dangerous for everyone else.

I don't mind sitting all wrapped up and cozy in my house watching the snow fall, but I hate driving through it.

Whee, more snow expected this evening. I already shovelled this morning before work and I'm NOT going to shovel again until tomorrow!

One question I still occasionally get asked that used to amuse me but now makes me is "Have you seen this much snow where you come from?" as if I just hopped off the banana boat! I'm tempted to give a smart-alecky answer in broken English but I tell them I was born in Canada and yes, I'm used to it, damn it!

That reminds me of a former university buddy of mine originally from Eritrea, who was about to become a Canadian citizen. I told there would be one more test before he could earn his citizenship... surviving a harsh Canadian winter! (He passed with flying snowflakes. )

It's Canada. It snows. It's cold. Get used to it. Brrrrr.

gilly, you don't need to make to me feel guilty about my pleasant memories. I don't appreciate that, thank you.

I worry much about my two sisters in Illinois who have to drive 1 1/2 hours each way to work in the city, you know.

Awwww, the snow is melting now...

Temperature is 0 celsius right now, this doesn't feel like a December weather to me.
