Default Give me an example! Quick!

I need an example about a movie (or play or book) about someone who takes the law into his/her own hands to for example opposes a wrongful system or revenges for something. I know there are hundreds of these. Oh, and if possible, could you give a short recap of the story?

I need them for an essay by the way.

Does the plot of classic Dalton-bond License to Kill count?

Bond goes rogue to revenge an attack on Felix Lighter by an evil dude who's name escapes me.

That wasn't a helpful plot synopsis .

How about Minority Report? Or Blade Runner?

Equilibrium, with Christian Bale. Everyone is forced to take pills to suppress their emotions, books have been banned etc, in order to bring peace to the world. Chris Bale is a cop who enforces these laws until he stops taking his pills, and dispenses kick-ass kung-fu justice on the biatches.

Btw, I was sooooo disappointed with that movie, incredibly shallow, boring and the action was so underwhelming. Why is everyone giving it so much praise is beyond me.

Well, it's not that the main character is revenging for something, he's just forced into defending himself.

See? You should watch it now!

EDIT:

Pump up the Volume.

Christian Slater takes on the persona of Happy Harry Hardon and runs his own pirate radio station out of the basement of his parents house to communicate with like minded teens. Unhappy with the wholesome veneer his local town projects while it ignores the angst its teenage population is going through (oh brother) he soon has a loyal following and is faced with being shut down by the cops and the school he attends. In his mind for speaking the truth, in everyone elses mind to stop him beating his meat on air, playing awful music and putting a loudspeaker to the mouths of whiny teenagers too stupid to realise they're not the first 'generation' to go through a rough childhood.

He keeps broadcasting (with the help of crush influenced Winona Ryder) fighting 'the man' but is eventually forced off the air. Too late unfortunately for he's started a trend and pretty soon every mopey teenager in town has a ham radio and is broadcasting their 'unique' feelings. Take that! snooty parents, Joe Law and the Principal of the High School.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Or Men in Tights. Same thing.

There was also this movie, which I have not seen, starring Ashley Judd, called Double Jeopardy, I think. She was convicted of killing her husband and sent to prison. When she serves the time and is released, she finds out that he faked his death and framed her for it. So she hunts him down to try to kill him or something, knowing she can't go to punished twice for the same crime. I don't know how it ends, though. Haven't seen it. But that's the gist of it.

I was hoping it would be a lot more than it was, but I thought the action scenes were pretty damn good, the choreography (sp??) was spot on
Spoiler:
and that final kung-fu/gun battle was crazy!
