1) True and also in the public health centers things didn't used to be like this, like even a few years ago you got a lot better service there from the doctors and nurses than now, mainly because they have a serious shortage of workers now. Many doctors have gone and joined private clinics like Mehiläinen and Medivire, because that's where the big money is. Also that's where you get the best and fastest service, but then again it costs a big pile of money.

Some years ago when my knee got injured the first time, it was operated quickly and the operation was high class, this all happened in public health center. The next time my knee got hurt in 2003, I had no other choice than to go to a private clinic and even then I had to wait 6 months for the operation.

2) Very true...

But still things are quite good in Finland, and I agree with a lot of stuff in that article.

I didn't even think of checking for Helsingki, which would probably be both faster and cheaper.
Hey, but in Vaasa you could meet me. That alone is worth $1057.
Then we could go on a trip around Finland and meet all the other guys of AG.

And just think how many forum members you could get to meet there! We have at least eight Finnish members! Let's see, there's Mattsius, Wormsie, Kolzig, Uptimist, Swordmaster, Simo Sakari Aaltonen, um... that's all I remember.

Heh, I remember a friend of mine who visited som rural part of Finland and he thought he had come to some underdeveloped third world country, with no toilets inside and things like that. No, I myself never noticed anything like that when I was last in Finland (about 10-15 years ago).

But why would he haft to meet you first huh? He could come to Åbo (Turku) via Copenhagen with Blue One, costs around 45€ if I remember correctly. And then from there "we could go on a trip around Finland and meet all the other guys of AG."

What's the sport, you can choose.

I checked flights to Helsingki, and they are much cheaper. However, hotels are astronomical! November must be during the height of the tourist season there.
So, do you have a couch?
Also, a good sauna after such a long flight would be wonderful!

Both my parents come from Finland, my mother actually grew up in the town Koskenkorva! That´s right, the place where they make the Koskenkorva alcohol.
I guess that´s why i´m so fxxxed in the head!

Heh heh, actually that's Vesa-Matti Loiri, one of the best actors that Finland has these days. Uuno Turhapuro is/was just his "alter ego".

The other guy in the picture is the late Pertti "Spede" Pasanen, the man who created the Uuno Turhapuro movies and so much, much more. He passed away a few years ago.

I can agree that from a pure acting point of view V-M Loiri is indeed gifted, but I've never liked Uuno Turhapuro and I think it's (excuse my language) the biggest shit ever to have come from our country. But I guess I'm not Finnish enough to understand it, because I don't think I know one Finland-Swede who actually likes Turhapuro.

It kinda depends what you want to see, the northern Finland is quite different from the southern. However, I owuld have to say that you don't do the thing that some do and just stick on the main roads and stuff, you can't see anything from just freeways...
