Locations?
When I read features for games, amateur adventures in particular, there are often to find features like: "64 unique locations!" and such.
Does this mean 64 backgrounds? Or could there be more than one background in one location? And what is a "non-unique" location? As a norwegian I am not into these kinds of phrases

Yes... it usually means 64 different "backgrounds"-rooms...

I would have though the 'uniqe' part would mean not necisseraly 64 backgrounds but 64 different locations...

Hmm,.. Okey, You see I ask because my game project has a bunch of "unique" locations as well, but there are some locations that have three different backgrounds or more, ex; a simple room from several angles so that every important detail is visible to the player..

I guess that one room shown from 2 different perspectives isn't two locations, but more like one.... Same goes for a scrolling background...

well one could argue that 2 different views of the one place could be labled as different locations, say Left side of the room and right corner of the room are 2 different loacations of the one room
but they wouldnt be uniqe locations though

What about rooms used in cutscenes but never in gameplay? Do they count?

I never understood how these "locations" are tallied.

On the inside flap of the box art for Tony Tough and the Night of the Roasted Moths, it says it has "61 levels" and a "bonus level". An extremely odd way of wording it for an adventure game. I was slightly concerned and thought it actually might be a platformer game instead.
